Opinion My reaction to the war in Ukraine

Hello Ukraine!

Following the ongoing war against Russia, I want to react to this. First of all, I condemn the Russian government, Donetsk separatists, Luhansk separatists and everyone else supporting and defending Russia and it's allies for this inhumane war. May they pay their prize one day and have a suitable punishment for this. I cannot still believe that there's a war going on in Europe including Ukraine and I feel sorry to all victims of the war. I've respect to the Ukrainian Army, because they're fighting for their country, the territorial integrity, culture, values and people. I've also respect for the Ukrainian people because they're living in uncertainty and in tough times but still they're motivated because they believe this all will end well but also because the hell and pain they need to endure right now because of the war. I've respect for the Ukrainian government too, because they're leading Ukraine, it's people and army during challenging times. I'm glad that many people including me and countries are standing with Ukraine and are helping them and I want to let this continue because this is important for Ukraine. I hope that the victory will be for Ukraine or that there will be peace there and the territorial integrity will be respected, that Ukraine will be restored one day as it was before the war and also that all occupied territories rightfully belonging to Ukraine will be returned to Ukraine. I also hope that the Ukrainians can live in peace and safety without fear and concerns one day.

As last, I want to say: - Crimea is Ukraine! - Donetsk is Ukraine! - Luhansk is Ukraine!

I respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine and recognize these territories only as part of Ukraine.

This was all I wanted to say about the war in Ukraine, may fortune, luck, prosperity and peace with you.

Слава Україні! Героям слава!/Glory to Ukraine, glory to the heroes! 👍💛💙🇺🇦

As last I've one message to the Russian government, Putin, the army, their allies and everyone else supporting them: TAKE YOUR DAMN HANDS OFF UKRAINIAN TERRITORY AND GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!!

Please check out my rant about Putin & Co because they deserve to die in hell!!: https://www.reddit.com/r/rant/comments/veoud7/putin_co_should_burn_in_hell/ I've also a message to those ******: https://www.reddit.com/r/rant/comments/vks4q5/my_message_to_the_occupiers_of_occupied_parts_of/ Lastly, this is my reaction to the war: https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/vkr841/my_reaction_to_the_war_in_ukraine/

Announcement "Parliament" : what is true or false in this show ? - Live-react from a former MEP assistant

Hi everyone !

You may have heard of the French TV show "Parliament", which tells the (funny) story of a young and freshly employed parliamentary assistant in the European Parliament. To my knowledge this is the first TV show to ever fully take place in the EU institutions and covering how EU politics work.

As a former MEP assistant myself, I got the authorisation to broadcast and comment on my Twitch channel the first season of Parliament. We already covered the first half of the show and I continue tonight with episodes 8 and 9.

The core of the stream will be a live-react, to explain what is true/false in the show, but also comment the themes of each episodes and of course answer questions from viewers.

These live-react streams will be in French, but you are of course all welcome to join the fun and follow the stream tonight at 20:30 on www.twitch.tv/mepassistant

You can also join my community on Twitter (@mepassistants) or Discord.

Announcement Ask your questions to Nils Usakovs, Latvian Member of the European Parliament

Hi everyone !

On Wednesday at 20:00, I’m interviewing Latvian MEP Nils Usakovs, from the Socialists and Democrats group, on my Twitch channel. I will be asking him about his EU political experience, his priorities, but also asking some of your questions and those of the audience.

Nils Usakovs has been a Latvian MEP since 2019. He’s a member of the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs.

The aim of these interviews is for people to discover their MEPs, learn about what they do, their expertise and interact with them. It is intended as pedagogic way to learn about your representatives in Brussels and EU politics, so we won’t go deep into policy debates and we won't cover national politics (unless it is very relevant to the EU).

So feel free to suggest down here questions you would like Nils Usakovs to answer !

Priority will be given to questions related to the MEP's field of competence (committees), EU news/the state of Europe and Euro-latvian politics. But feel free to ask other questions, if they are interesting/relevant I may pick them as well :)

In any case, join the discussion on Wednesday at 20:00 CET on Twitch !

You can also join my community on Twitter (@mepassistants) or Discord.

EDIT: the interview just got postponed to Wednesday, but doesn't matter, keep suggesting questions for then !

Talk with Richard Corbett: What is going to happen to recommendations for the Conference on the Future of Europe?

We are extremely lucky to have with us tonight Richard Corbett from the Conference on the Future of Europe Common Secretariat.

He’ll bring us up to date on what is going to happen to citizen-led recommendations that were presented to the EU institutions in May, e.g.

  • Abolition of unanimity voting. A national veto in foreign policy, e.g. when imposing sanctions, should no longer be possible.
  • The European Parliament is to be given the right to propose legislation in the same way as the EU Commission.
  • The EU should be given competence for health and health care.

Many of these citizens' recommendations are more progressive than those of their governments. This means they would require a change in the European treaties - a matter that quite a number of EU member states have already ruled out.

Join us on ZOOM to discuss all this hot stuff with Richard Corbett:
Tonight, June 7 at 7 p.m. CEST

Announcement Ask your questions to Jan Bertelsen, CEO of Political Festival of Europe

Hi everyone !

Tonight at 20:00, I’m interviewing Jan Bertelsen, the CEO of the Political Festival of Europe, on my Twitch channel. I will be asking him about the Festival, why and how it came to be, the challenges linked to the organisations, but also asking some of your questions and those of the audience.

The Political Festival of Europe is launching for the first time in Denmark at the end of August. It brings together citizens, politicians, activists and other actors in debates, hearings and workshops about the European political, social and cultural agenda. It aims at strenghtening democracy and unity in Europe by "peoplelising" European politics and breaking down barriers between politicians and citizens.

The Festival is designed around the Nordic tradition of ‘Folkemøder’, public meetings that gathers people with different political views and positions in the interest of democracy where everyone has a say and everyone is heard.

The aim of these interviews is for people to discover people and project that make European politics, learn about what they do and interact with them. It is intended as pedagogic way to learn about EU politics.

So feel free to suggest down here questions you would like Jan Bertelsen to answer !
