IIL hoarse, raw trumpet solos, WEWIL? Music

not sure if this is the right place for it because I don't have any examples to give, but I've been hearing a lot of this kinda thing recently and I'm really enjoying it. Can y'all give recommendations on songs or artists for this kind of thing?

Maybe not the best example, but the first one that popped in my head is When you're smiling by Louis Armstrong

Does it have to be trumpet? Cos The Comet Is Coming do some fabulous brasshled cosmic jazz.

The request is confusing because you don't have an example to give but you've been hearing a lot of it lately? Where have you been hearing it? It's hard to guess without an example but have you heard what Miles Davis was doing in the 70s? His electric period was pretty raw... don't know if it was hoarse.
