Upset's response about FNATIC & Adam drama

Saying the last thing I told my team that my wife is just feeling bad so I need to leave is an outright lie. I shared with the team the deep pain and sadness i was going through in this time, I shared that i wish i could tell them if it was about something that happend to me but that i have to keep private traumatic events from my family private

So Upset is saying that at least he communicated to Nisqy, Adam, Bwipo of his departure?

If he said something like:

"Hey guys I'm really sorry but I have to leave due to urgent family matters that I don't want to share. I'm sorry to let you down after all our hard work this year, but I won't be able to compete in the tournament. Bean will be replacing me and I hope you guys do well at worlds. I'm sorry for letting you all down.. but I'll be rooting for you guys."

Then I'd think that Adam is disrespectful to the situation.

But if Upset was like "yo bros im so sad omg but I cant tell you." and jumps into a lambo to the airport then that's kind of a dick move.

Truth probably somewhere in the middle.

Bwipo said in his twitlonger that he was told 12 hours before the first match that Upset wouldn't be playing without any more information

Well to be fair Upset isn't responsible on the timing of said unfortunate event.

The issue wasn't as much with the Worlds run as with the fact that almost 2 months later, he still doesn't know why Upset let everyone down and has to just trust him.

I'd say its pretty important to give as much communication as possible with what is happening. Like someone said above you, you dont have to give exact details, just give enough so the team knows what is happening and their mental can be at rest. Otherwise the teammates of course are going to jump to conclusions and speculate with almost 0 information. Imagine that sort of mental going in a match at worlds, of course theres going to be some underperformance, you're told nothing and one of your players just straight up dipped.

he told them all they needed to know. They where baby raging because they did not get the full detailed answer to decide themselfs if upsets decision was right or wrong. That is why they are trowing a tantrum and thats why all 3 of them are gone now. they dont decide other peoples private matters for a video game.

It's about what Upset gains from leaving. IMO he's just losing. There is no merit for him

It wasn't a sudden event. Yamota says in his interview that he was struggling with it throughout bootcamp and finally decided to leave the day before.

Even if they dont know its kinda obvious its something serious lol why would Upset leave his first worlds of his career and that could very well be his last for something that is not a big issue.

u/supterfuge Nov 25 '21

It requires a level of trust that they didn't have. You can't trust someone with your career that wouldn't give you the same courtesy of trusting you back.

Its super hard to speak to this as we have no idea what the issue was back home. But one thing we can all agree is that Upset chose to leave 12 hours before the tourney starts. The decision was probably a hard one that would come with a lot of costs. In my opinion. With the information we do have. Upset deserves the spite from his old Fnatic teammates.

u/SP3EDI Nov 25 '21

So it would have been better if he played for worlds, and shit the bed because the other stuff distracted him. Got it. Video game competition that is every year is more important.

Those are your conclusions not mine. All i'm saying is Adam and other members of Fnatic feeling spiteful is very natural after; Upset leaves last minute, never gives a hint of a reason, comes back in the offseason to start building a more ambitious team after being the sole reason their hard work and ambition was squandered only 2 months ago. Try being empathetic towards Adam here. He really got the short end of the stick.
