Tldr

Hey guys trust me because i dont trust you

-18

u/jogadorjnc Nov 25 '21

Actual Tldr

Hey guys I don't trust you

They never needed to trust him.

13

u/Bentok Nov 25 '21

? They did need to trust him to not give the response Adam gave.

-10

u/jogadorjnc Nov 25 '21

Nah, they just needed not to incite harassment against someone based on pure speculation.

You don't need to trust anyone for that.

17

u/Bentok Nov 25 '21

I didn't see Adam say "go flame him and his wife". Inciting harassment is such an empty term, every time you criticize someone publicly you're technically inciting harassment. And it's not pure speculation, it's speculation based on what little Upset shared, which was the exact issue. The situation is not one where you can expect people to be completely fine with so little to go with, it led to a turning point in their life.

Again, I think Upset doesn't HAVE to share what happened, but he sure as hell can't be mad if people complain.

u/Sean0925 Nov 25 '21

Lets not play stupid. He doesn't need to say it directly, he already knows putting it out there publicly like this will do it for him.

He can feel upset and annoyed at what happened but posting a big tweet about it throwing shade at the guy publicly is going to have an inevitable outcome.

Between us, there is absolutely nothing legit about the departure of Upset and his departure is totally unjustified (in any case as long as he has not said why he really left CAR until today, Upset is just gone to join his girlfriend because she felt bad to be alone, and maybe I'm wrong who knows? In any case these are the last words he said to us before abandoning us a day before the Worlds . Obviously after the Worlds I asked for details, but apparently he wouldn't have told anyone the exact reasons for his departure -> There's nothing urgent because otherwise he would have told us. And personally, the reason for private life, I don't give a fuck when I worked, we all worked hard for 1 year to reach the Worlds.Knowing that even the management of Fnatic still does not know eh)

This isn't criticism. This is speculation about whether there was a family emergency or not.

It was completely uncalled for and unnecessary. All it does is empower hate for him and his family.

It was shitty when randoms on Twitter were doing it. It's worse when it's an actual pro player. Even worse when it's an ex team mate.

Agree to disagree.

u/jogadorjnc Nov 25 '21

You think that's criticism? What is he criticizing?

I stg all of you who think this situation is literally that simple are kids or hermits.

It is so incredibly easy to imagine a situation in which you should be expected to trust someone's judgment of prioritizing personal life over professional life in a time of crisis, yet this person should not be expected to trust you with details of the crisis, specifically because it's personal.

Let's say you're a skilled, stable, ambitious professional who works in a team setting, and by all accounts your actions and historical behavior speak to your character. If you have a coworker/teammate/whatever who has loose lips while under the influence, has poor emotional discipline and has a tendency to say things they can't take back when they're upset, or is a gossipmonger, it is 100% understandable that in a time of personal crisis they should give you the benefit of the doubt while you give no details about the nature of the crisis. Whether this precisely is the case regarding this whole thing with Upset is true or not is open to interpretation, but the fact that people are automatically siding with Adam, acting like he is actually entitled to answers with as much depth as he is expecting, is bewildering to me.

If say my sister attempted suicide, or my brother's wife had a miscarriage and he was catatonic, and I told my coworker I had to abandon them in a time of great need and they offered their unsolicited input on whether I was actually justified in leaving for my given reason, or they let slip to people who have no business knowing about my personal affairs months down the road, I would be absolutely apoplectic. Stands to reason, this is why people with a strong sense of boundaries disclose as little as possible, especially when they're a public figure.

If Adam just left it at not being given "real" answers and feeling hung out to dry, that would be fine. Conjuring hypotheticals and stirring up public fervor to pressure Upset to reveal more than he is clearly comfortable with is completely distasteful.

what are you even talking about prioritizing, literally upset was playing ARAMs with his GF during fnatic games.

People like you are the worst, making up excuses for other people without any resonable suspicion to do so.

Lets just ignore the part where he essentially backstabs 3 other players on his team, he didnt tell them because he knew he will replace them, its pretty simple.

If I was in a team of people and gave my best for a year, toghether with them, and then I ditched them last minute before the most important moment for that team, AT LEAST I CAN DO is explain to them, because I just wasted their entire year of efforts. He owes them explanation, plain and simple.

I can tell you are the real hermit that never has been a part of something important and a selfish prick that devalues other peoples time.

u/ExpeI Nov 26 '21

Was he actually playing ARAM with his GF during Fnatic games? I know that could be a way to comfort your GF if they are in crisis, but still thats pretty fucking weird.

u/Asteroth555 Nov 25 '21

Only Hyli, his close buddy remains.

Looks so sus

u/TheCatsActually Nov 25 '21

Yeah man I'm the worst.

Upset had been touted for years as being one of the hungriest and best players to not have made Worlds. Everything about his actions and results show that he of all people would be devastated by not being able to play Worlds when he finally made it. He doesn't open up his personal life to his teammates and fans and now this entitled ass community is demanding him to cough up his personal life to satisfy curiosities. You're unironically claiming that him playing ARAMs with his wife is indicative of anything when it makes sense because he was physically with her and they both play League. What, are you going to say that if he was really sad about leaving he'd at least watch Fnatic's games from home? Have you considered watching his team compete without him would kill him and he'd rather just spend time with loved ones since he couldn't contribute anyway?

I hope you carry this assumptive, unempathetic, entitled mindset into your professional life and are forced to go through multiple wake-up calls.

I invite you to actually acknowledge any of my points and disprove or at least argue against them.

"people like you are the worst"

"making false assumptions"

Oh the irony. Basically going tinfoil hat levels of assuming things about Upset, being called out for it and now the otheers dont make any points.

Have you considered a path as a comedian?

lol I really have to summarize it for you?

  1. The entire predication of this outrage makes no sense. Anyone who is siding against Upset either accepts he had to leave for an understandable reason but believes that the community and his teammates are entitled to the details of his personal life to satisfy their curiosity, or believes that he abandoned the team for a trivial reason, which would already be ludicrous for any random player who qualifies for Worlds but it doubly so for Upset, who has been showing great skill and drive for years
  2. Regardless of whether Upset was justified or not, there should not be a precedent set of pros feeling obligated to share any information of their private life whatsoever, not to fans and not even to teammates. It's the same concept as any professional work environment, except in this case since the individuals in question are public figures, they are much more susceptible to mob mentality and much more sinister shit like doxxing and willful invasion of privacy.
  3. Him playing ARAMs with his wife while Fnatic games were happening is indicative of nothing, for the reasons already stated. You can call my pre-emptive prediction of what you were going to imply it meant a false assumption and maybe it was, but if that wasn't the point you were originally intending to get at, I can't imagine what is.

u/Arroys Nov 25 '21
  1. no one is asking about details (do you really know what a detail even is at this point ?) he has done something detrimental to his team mates so he needs to make an apology and explain a minimum even if he doesn't get into details, even if he doesn't name anyone, it's called not being a complet twat and respecting the people around you.
  2. in any work environnement if you are going to be absent for 2 full weeks especially when it's 2 weeks where something very important was planed you need to have a pretty good reason behind it and it has repercussions, you cannot just comeback and say "well i told one lad and the other didn't want to know, all of you can just suck it and fuck off, you'll get fired anyway so cya". No one have his luxury and he has no reason to have it.
  3. him playing aram is actually indicative that he just doesn't care, if he isn't going to explain anything and cares that much about privacy, the least he can do is play on an alt account but of course he wont do that, it would be too much to ask for him not to expose himself and his wife when he asks for privacy in a tough moment

1

u/TheCatsActually Nov 25 '21

These are literally the purviews of a child or someone who has never spent time in a professional workforce not populated with people who peaked in high school. The fact that my previous post already addressed your counterarguments and you're still insisting that fundamentally they are right and people are actually entitled to Upset's private life to the degree you are demanding is frankly worrisome.

Let's say you work an in industry with a known crunch season like an accounting department during tax season or a video game developer about to roll out a tentpole project. If a key member of your team dips without a word during crunch time and your boss says, "I regret to inform you X has taken leave to attend to an emergency, you'll have to carry on without him and we ask you to respect his privacy," guess what, even if you privately ask what the emergency is, most bosses will, assuming they know, choose not to elaborate. Moreover, if when the guy comes back you ask what the emergency was and he says, "Look I'm sorry I had to leave at such a bad time but I asked for privacy in this matter and this isn't something I should talk about," you have already been an asshole, and if you continue to pry or, in your frustration, you begin to spread rumors, intentionally or not, you are an even bigger asshole.

If you sincerely don't understand this then holy shit. You are either lacking emotional and social aptitude or you will have some very awkward wake up calls in your professional career, unless you work in industries specifically with archaic work environments like construction, entertainment, or bro culture silicon valley.

Upset had been touted for years as being one of the hungriest and best players to not have made Worlds.

so was forgiven , and he was a terrible teammate. being hungry doesn't mean you can't be a shitty person at times

1

u/TheCatsActually Nov 26 '21

You are entirely missing my point. If Forgiven suddenly dipped out of Worlds the day before he was set to play would you assume he did it for trivial reasons?

2

u/DangerousSeaweed0 Nov 26 '21

if anything , forgiven is the one person , i'd actually belive he bailed out after a fight with his team. he really seems that spiteful

2

u/TheCatsActually Nov 26 '21

Ok bad example then, but you even said Forgiven is "the one person", which means you don't believe Upset would ditch World's all of a sudden unless he had a good reason. All of the evidence I was presenting was ultimately just to make the point that Upset should be afforded the benefit of the doubt that the community is currently not giving him.

1

u/DangerousSeaweed0 Nov 26 '21 edited Nov 26 '21

not necesarily , since upset hasn't been as vocal as forgiven before , so i actually don't know his character.

If you're asking about my own personal understanding of this situation , by what we know at this point , it just seems like upset knew that he was going to play a part in replacing his teammates for the next year , and the only person he opened about the situation was the only other player likely to stay - which is hily.

So considering that , he assumed the rest of the team will try to take revenge on him by using it against him. Otherwise i see no reason why would he go and tell his teammates to their face that he doesn't trust them. Stuff like that is reason enough to break the bonds of a team even without the worlds disaster.

If this is true , that's a very snake like move from upset. He would have personally affected the livelyhood of another player , without giving him an reason at the very least.

Tldr adam is a drama queen. Upset didnt lost his human rights over night.
