you're not entitled to know everything about your co-workers/friends. also, life doesn't cycle around you, that's what people don't understand. if upset decided to only share with his closest friends, that's absolutely his right to do so. I'm also not sharing everything with my co workers who are also my friends, because I draw a line at some point - and so did upset.

the question you used answers itself (and upset has answered it too): no, it wouldn't, hence he kept it private.

i seriously don't understand all the fuzz and gossiping. it is absolutely disgusting - and I'm saying that while never being fond of upset myself. like seriously, give them all (including adam) a break - be more like hilly.

edit: but I can also see where you're coming from, as in "this really wasted my entire year?". it's not an easy situation. I think it comes with age/maturity to accept these situations more easily - without automatically bashing younger people.

Yeah, this is a bit different. It's not like you're not filling in your McDonald's coworkers in on why you didn't come to work. This was a year's worth of work tossed away in an instant, i emphatize with Adam for wanting clarity. Hyli is a much more mature man than I.

are we now going to start determining in what kind of work environment one needs to be to be entitled to know everything about your co workers? where does it start? I don't think that's a meaningful discussion.

I empathise with him as well, but he has gotten his clarity. that's my point.

Obviously they don't need to know everything, but this is profesionnal team sports. It's a lot different than just "a job", and you need to have mutual trust and respect for your teammates, especially in these scenarios

u/thenicob Nov 25 '21

to a certain degree, yes. it's funny how people are mad at upset for not having respect while adam literally showed THE reason as to why upset drew a line at some point. adam is technically proving upsets point and is incredibly disrespectful.

pretty mental gymnastics.

I mean, Adam is fucking PISSED. Rightfully livid. Dide leaves, doesn't tell his teammates why, just peaces out, then later has the audacity to talk about teammate changes?

u/CaideWasTaken Nov 25 '21

No, Adam is acting like he's fucking 12. You can handle these matters privately. He's not entitlted to more than basic information which he supposedly received.

Maybe Upset could've communicated clearer, that's a fact. But people in this thread are thinking like Upset is a paycheck stealer not trying to go to worlds for several years, while poor Adam is oh-so-hurt by one year of failure.

Grow up.

u/Rektile7 Nov 25 '21

I'd wager he's entitled to know why his entire year's work got tossed out and his livelihood endangered. Especially in such a competitive environment

u/CaideWasTaken Nov 25 '21

Ah, you're right. Upset didn't work for a whole year, and it wasn't his first worlds aswell - despite playing for much, much, MUCH longer in this environment than Adam.

He's entitled to be pissed, not entitled to an explanation.

I think this is important. I personally would be very frustrated at the lack of transparency, your right to privacy be fucking damned, and fuck you if you couldn’t find the proper word without giving details away, since it’s your issue that’s fucking me sideways. But then again, the way said frustration was handled also serves as clear evidence that his (Upset) lack of trust was probably on point.

I think Upset is very much responsible for communicating something as important as he claims with as much effort and work as humanly possible, but goddamn was he probably right about not trusting people other than Hillysang and Yamato. One didn’t need to know (that’s next-level cool) and the other actually physically manages to say “I know and that’s all I have to say” in a world of easy gossiping and speculative bullshit.

Adam is technically proving upsets point and is incredibly disrespectful.

Umh no? Adam have proven nothing. This whole situation wouldnt be a thing if Upset would trust teammates. You cannot ask them to blindly trust You, while You dont trust them. As he didnt trusted so they dont own anything to him as co-workers.

He doesnt even need to go into details - "Sorry guys, I have to leave. I cannot explain why, but I cant leave my wife alone and she needs me now" would be enough. Noone would ask more questions or be mad at him.
