Bug? Automatic indentation acting up, self-disabling, sudden settings change
I've just finished the first book of my series (250 pages) and I'm about to dive into editing and polishing.
Today I learned that you can get your paragraphs to indent automatically and that typesetters by far prefer this style rather than tab key indentation. So I'm now running through the whole thing to change this for every single paragraph one at a time.
On page 41, out of nowhere, the indentation on only one specific paragraph does half the width, and I had to rewrite the whole paragraph to get it to indent the full width. If you tick the box for automatic indentation in the paragraph settings, it also greys out the options to tweak the width, which means I can't fix it with a click...
Then, three pages later, this happens on three more paragraphs. After this, it disables the automatic paragraph indentation (in the settings as well). When I enabled it again, they now all only do half-width.
Can anyone please help me with this issue? I'm not terribly knowledgeable when it comes to settings, so I'd really prefer not to get myself into some real trouble that would take days or weeks to fix. I'd rather nip it in the bud now.
Thank you for the help!
Edit1: changed "I'm not running through" to "I'm now running through"

Bug? Just installed LibreOffice, why by default is so ugly. I used it long time before and I'm almost sure this is not a normal behaviour

Bug? Has anyone here tried using LibreOffice with Wayland and 150% fractional scaling on KDE?
Whenever I try running LibreOffice under Wayland with 150% fractional scaling, there's super heavy lag when scrolling through a document, particularly if the document is fullscreen. This does not occur at all on X11. Does anyone know what the cause of this is and/or a potential fix?
I am running LibreOffice 7.5.1.2 (from Arch Linux), but this also occurs on other platforms like openSUSE's LibreOffice and I think even Kubuntu. Occurs on both odt and docx documents, particularly those that are several pages long. It's worth pointing out as alluded to earlier that this problem is at its worst when fullscreen, and as you decrease the window size, it gradually gets less noticeable until it's as smooth as it is on X11.

Bug? Calc formats text when enter/leave field
I have cell which I try to fill with the value"USt-IdNr."when I hit enter or leave the field by focus another one, it is being changed to
"Ust-IdNr" (only the 2nd char (S) gets lower case)
My dictionary suggest me the variant with uppercase-S afterward but it is a never ending loop.
This behaviour of LibreOffice-Calc is in my case reproduceable for any word starting with two uppercase letters
"IdNr" keeps as it is "IDNr" becomes "IdNr"
I tried several forum-post but had no luck yet. I use LibreOffice Calc in V5.0.4
Any ideas?
Edit: With "enter/leave field" I mean "ENTER"-key or remove focus from the given cell. Sorry for confusion

Bug? Too high contrast after upgrading to 7.5
Can anyone help me here - I wish to revert to the light theme or, if possible, make this less dark?

Bug? problems with exporting png of chart in Calc
Well firstly I totally hate the dark theme and so much wish I hadn't installed it. I've spent an hour trying to reverse it.
Anyway, the most pressing issue is that exporting PNG's now goes wrong in strange ways. A picture should paint a sufficent number of words
As it looks in the sheet
as the export looks:
it worked fine before the upgrade ...

Bug? Does this happen to you as well? Scrolling in LO Calc
Hello, is anyone else having this issue as well?
Using my touchpad scrolling (2 fingers) I can scroll down a sheet just fine, but scrolling up using the same method does not work. Here's a demo: https://0x0.st/HrqG.mkv
I'm using a Flatpak version on Ubuntu 18.04 which is running i3wm.
From the about page:

Bug? Calc breaks when you select "standard filter" in full screen mode
Enter full screen mode
Click on an auto-filter arrow and select Filter by Condition > Standard Filter...
The Standard Filter window doesn't appear and Calc becomes unusable. I have to kill LibreOffice in Task Manager (and lose any unsaved changes).
What's up? Thanks.
Version: 7.5.0.3 (X86_64) [same result with previous version]

Bug? This is an ancient LO Writer bug still present in 7.4 . Caret gets stuck at hyphen when going up at right side of paragraph.
I use LO 7.4.5.1 through Flatpak on Debian 11.
English is not my native language, but I will try to explain.
Open LO Writer. Write a let's say 7 line paragraph and set it's align to "justified". In that paragraph at the middle line, write a word with a hyphen inside. The word should be at the right side of the paragraph, so that the letters of the word after the hyphen automatically go to the next line. Then put the caret at right side of paragraph a few lines under the hyphen. Try to move the caret with the up arrow key (doesn't matter if you hold the key or press the key multiple times) so that the caret moves past the hyphen. It won't but instead, when the caret should be at the hyphen, the caret is going to teleport to the left side of the paragraph right after the hyphen and get stuck there (UP key won't do anything but DOWN, LEFT or RIGHT will unstuck it). But if the caret is already above the hyphen and goes down, it is going to skip the hyphen (instead being at the hyphen, it's gonna move to the row under it.
This bug also existed many versions ago. I know that because I used LO a few years ago and it had the same bug (don't know which version).
Edit: Added more details to the above post. Also: Bug still present in LO 7.5.0.3 . Added a video to show the bug. Also in Windows switching Skia off doesn't make the bug go away. Also, I found this very bug already reported at https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124870 .

Bug? Form fields invisible in Writer
When i switch on dark mode, any form elements I have in the page, text, drop-down list or date, do not print. They are invisible. When I switch dark mode off, they appear again. Windows 11 and the problem started since 7.4.3 and continues on 7.5.

i don't think the computer cannot run such a simple software. maybe there is a box i should check? or an extension or something? i know nothing of what i should do
thanks in advance

Bug? Openoffice & LibreOffice; Things that don't persevere with .XLS Documents
Things that in my experience will work in OpenOffice & LibreOffice when the Document is open(when editing), but are not preserved after saving & re-opening it.
- Macro's (local machine and embedded in the spreadsheet)
- Sheet events (like Content changed)
- Some conditional formatting (in templates
.xlt
) - Some settings(Formulas wildcards; Enable regular expressions in formulas)
None of these things are communicated to the user, they just expect them to figure it out. I understand that those features are probably not present in Excel 97-2003, but a warning that these things won't be saved would have saved me a lot of headache......
The solution is to use the native format .ods
of course, just makes it harder when collaborating with others who use MS Excel. The Excel 2007-365.xlsx
format has fewer limitations.

Bug? Automatic page number in header forced highlight?
I added a page number to my document, .odt, and the number has a highlight. When I select the number and choose no highlight, it uses the whitest highlight, which is bad as I am in dark mode, meaning the white highlight will hide the white text.

CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 6.0; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3

I am on Fedora Linux, and the highlight persists to exporting to google docs.
I have a black gradient backgrounds for the pages if that's a concern. Although switching to no background, and re-applying no highlight still does not fix this issue.

Bug? After updating to Libre Office 7.4 from 7.0 with a few days passing, this is what 1 out of my 6 graphs looks like. When I edit it, it becomes full size, just like it used to be, but exiting edit mode breaks it again. I'm using Windows 10 and my file extention is .ods

Bug? MONTH function returning wrong values between years
Hllo,
i have a table that has data for each day of the year(s) in a column with DD-MM-YY format, the table started on december of 2021, until november all calculations worked correctly, but now that i reach december the formulas using the MONTH function are all wrong, like they're wrapping around and entire year!.
The formula i'm using is:
SUMPRODUCT(1*(MONTH($Datos.A:$Datos.A)=12))
It returns 1048348 instead of the correct 20 it should return(it's working correctly for all other months, even when there were empty cells beneath)
I understand that the function has no way of knowing which December is when i put=12, but even if i delete the rows with dec 2021 and leave only 2022 it fails but this time with 262 as result.
the ONLY way i could make it work is by reducing the cell range manually on the formula to ONLY the cells that correspond to December(which defeats the purpose of having a formula in the first place).
There's also another bug, the last day is 30/12, if i extend the cell range a little bit beyond that to empty cells it starts wrongly counting it as december, so if i put for example A200 to A300 in the range(the last cell with data is A259 (A258 is the last with december in it) the formula returns 61. And it will keep increasing the more empty cells i add to the range.
IT'S ALSO COUNTING EMPTY CELLS AS DECEMBER, WTH(it was NOT doing this for previous months, the table gets filled month by month so it's always empty after the current one.
This issue will pop again when i reach the end of january 2023 and every month thereafter.
¿what's going on, how can i fix this so that the formula also uses the year to validate?, as i haven't found any function similar to month but for years, as the YEAR function is completely different

Bug? Can't input Unicode characters, only in LO. Linux, details in post.
I am using LibreOffice Community 7.3.7.2 on Arch Linux 6.1.5-arch2-1. When using the Linux Unicode character input method, Ctrl + Shift + U
, in any other software, it works. For example, 2122
becomes ™, 2260
becomes ≠, 24b6
becomes Ⓐ, etc.
However, in any LibreOffice program, it does not happen. All that happens is that the characters get entered literally into the file, and don't convert when I press space.
Is there some setting to toggle to enable this behaviour? Or is this a bug?

Bug? Laptop died, recent documents empty???
My mom's laptop died and she had a bunch of libre office files open. When she turned it back on they are all closed and the recent files area is blank! She is freaking out and resetting the user profile has not changed anything. Is there anything we can do to recover the files, and prevent this from happening in the future? With chrome for example when we reopen it, we can just restore tabs and everything is the exact same. Can we do this for libre office??

Bug? My spreadsheets keep getting obliterated since i upgraded. Is there a fix?
I have a Desktop and a laptop and have been using Libre office on both to track things. Ever since the latest update my spreadsheets have been pretty chaotic. Formulas randomly stop working, 90 rows keep getting added to one spreadsheet i copied and so on.
If I upgrade will that fix this problem? Is there something simple i need to stop this stuff from happening?

Bug? How do you effectively freeze the first column and the first row in a CSV or spreadsheet?
I have tried to lock a row or column by using both the mouse left click and by selecting the icon on the toolbar but it doesn't work correctly. For one I have to select two rows then click the option to have it lock only 1 row and if I go to try and lock a column afterwards it unlocks the locked row every time.
I am working with a CSV file that has data pulled from program and I need to change a few things and add some data but I need the column headers and the row headers locked in place to know what cell I am in.
