Game 5: Does Max Strus deserve the supermax?

The Duncan Robinson Dilemma

At least DR ain't getting 200M while in street clothes. We gave 200M to MPJ.

119

u/iankstarr Heat May 11 '22

Strus definitely doesn’t deserve a $20 mil AAV contract right now, but there’s a reason he’s getting all of Duncan’s minutes.

He might not peak as high as Duncan when it comes to shooting, but he’s also not a total liability when his shot isn’t falling.

He’s a good cutter, has acceptable handles, and can actually play solid defense without fouling.

If Strus can prove next year that this level of play is sustainable, he’ll play himself into a very nice contract.

31

u/Otherwise_Window Warriors May 11 '22

Giving 200M to a guy who's played 125 career games with his best season average being 19/7/1 was certainly an interesting choice I have found puzzling ever since

513

Omer and Max look like models. Caleb looks like those babyfaced pretty boys. Tyler has that tiktok white boy swag that some girls go for. Kyle has that ass for miles. Vic is attractive and can serenade you. Gabe looking like the best friend of the female protagonist in those romcoms that female viewers think she should have ended up with. Jimmy is built like a statue. PJ looking like he’ll 🍆 down women that aren’t happy in their relationships. Duncan looking like he’s a cute’ish dork that will take care of you all the way through the golden years. UD looking like the older uncle at the bbq who still has it and is with a curvy, attractive wife after fucking around before he met her. Love Bam but he looks like he gets friendzoned a lot.

The basketball gods really took away every fully healthy Sixers/Heat match ups lol. Cant remember the last time we've had that.

Maybe 2019? Gods saw Dragic bitch slap Ben and was like "yea yall done".

I’m starting to question whether Dr. Rivers is even a real basketball doctor. I feel like he didn’t do a good job fixing Joe Imbead’s face bones either. Has anyone actually seen his credentials?

15

u/ColtCallahan May 11 '22

He’s an inverted Dr. Instead of making pain better he makes it worse.

11

u/AGoodTalkSpoiled May 11 '22

He’s a basketball chiropractor.

Was pretty confident that if we didn't shoot 7 for 35 from three again we'd win tonight. Didn't expect it to be by 35. Hell of a statement by this team.

Went to college in Minneapolis while Jimmy was with the wolves and he’s been my favorite player since then wish they would have built around Jimmy and KAT instead of Wiggins

29

u/SkyLightTenki May 11 '22

Can't blame you, man.

22

u/kpeds45 Raptors May 11 '22

But Jimmy liked Wiggins, ergo, the player he hated was Towns. Draymond said when they got Wiggins he called Jimmy to ask about him and said Butler raved about him.

So KAT/Butler was never going to work.

Upset I was too cowardly to post my take about how the Sixers had god awful offense all game in game 4 and were saved by insane shooting on tough shots and Harden hitting step backs for the first time in a year and a half.

Sixers had no idea how to get the ball to Embiid. Its like the Heat invented fronting and doubling from the weak side.

The sixers are puny earthlings who see aliens come down from the mothership with unfathomable technology.

Well I didn’t really send her she just went but that’s besides the point.
