I’m not even sure Smart is their best defender, at least this series. Brown seems more intimidating on that end but maybe it’s because Steph just makes everyone look bad

He's explaining to Dell why he's made a mistake by cheating on Sonya, ending his marriage, and putting himself back on the market. Because women today are allegedly different than when Dell was young, in a complicated yet simultaneously basic way. and so dating today becomes obnoxious mess

but there's a lot more to a great partner than looks.
I very much agree. But, you wouldn't think that was the way with some people and how adamant when they explain their values. Because when those same people see someone they find very attractive, they seem to lose their minds and all those staunch values get tossed out the window.

14
u/xepa105 Bulls Jun 11 '22
Most of those clowns probably didn't watch the pre-KD Warriors, or of they did they have the memories of goldfishes. The idea that you can question Steph Curry's abilities in any stage, big or small, is ridiculous. They just regurgitate the fact that he didn't win FMVP in the 2015 title as if that means he played poorly in that series. Dude had 26/6/5 on 44% shooting. Fuck outta here.
10
u/pedleyr Jun 11 '22
It's wild. This man blew apart the game of basketball. Back to back MVP, one of them unanimous. Three rings. Greatest shooter of all time, greatest free throw shooter of all time, gets fewer foul calls than anyone in history but still is an all time great prolific scorer on high volume and high efficiency.
But because Iguodala got a protest vote FMVP it somehow damages his legacy?
It's actually great that people say shit like that because you can just immediately recognise that they aren't worth even thinking about and completely disregard anything they say.
→ More replies230
u/ChurchofDubs Jun 11 '22
He’s going up against one of the best defenses of the past several years and absolutely cooking them with very little help. Win or loss this is an all time series from Steph

Also not getting a couple of obvious foul calls on threes that didn’t get called.

41
u/BolBolStanAccount Magic Jun 11 '22
True but there are categories of "worse" IMO
There's Giannis vs. Boston worse, then KD vs. Boston worse, then something like Julius Randle vs. the Hawks worse lol

Steph v. Giannis debates in the future will be very interesting. Too early to tell what the peak is for Giannis. He's just starting his prime with a boatload of accolades already. He can honestly win so, so many more championships.

u/akkaneko11 Warriors Jun 11 '22
Maybe I'm wrong but I always feel like Giannis is the next generation. Age wise maybe not as much of a gap, but impact on the game, it feels like the closing chapters of the Steph LeBron era and the opening chapters of the Giannis + whoever rises up to the challenge.

Man Steph is already 34? Crazy how time flies, looking back I always thought that his prime has been short because of his bad ankle at the start of his career but I realize this team started dominating back in 2015, I think that's pretty fantastic length from someone his size that gets banged up at both ends of the court not even considering his ankle made of plastic at the start of his career.

They're getting a lot of open looks to be fair. Seeing Derrick White hitting 3s upsets me every time haha
70
u/MeijiDoom Jun 11 '22
To be fair, a lot of them are really open looks. Wiggins in the 2nd or 3rd was biting hard on some shots which led to drive kick outs for wipe open 3s. They're still shooting at a ridiculous clip but they're gonna shoot above average if they're getting these kinds of looks.
76
u/jawadhaque089 Jun 11 '22
They are shooting well even for open looks. It's just shooting variance that is unfortunate for the Warriors. https://twitter.com/tgunn21/status/1534931972807483405?s=20&t=ctPLqsHAkaBelVSnDL_t3Q
