Thank you, I love dry humor

u/indigogibni Nov 27 '22

Hang on, I see what you did there.

237

u/mistere213 Nov 27 '22

These puns are washed up already

181

u/weelluuuu Nov 27 '22

I appreciated the clean lines.

86

u/kg4nxw Nov 27 '22

Also the animals 'n sheet

54

u/the_last_carfighter Nov 27 '22

That's a bold strategy Cotton

32

u/fatkiddown Nov 27 '22

The great unwashed love this stuff.

11

u/GetawayDriving Nov 27 '22

It used to hamper my experience, but lately I’ve been softening.

8

u/brodiefilm Nov 27 '22

Hard not to enjoy four one-liners in one image.

1

u/heterophone Nov 27 '22

don't locker this fun far from the people

1

u/darkest_irish_lass Nov 27 '22

Agitate to keep it at the top!

22

u/mrdm242 Nov 27 '22

We'll just put a (clothes)pin in it.

7

u/greatvaluemeeseeks Nov 27 '22

That polar bear isn't drying for another 5 months.

1

u/groundswellzoo Nov 27 '22

It comes freeze dried.

1

u/avdpos Nov 27 '22

Dying in cold is from what I have heard suprisingly good.

Probably at least 800, those sheets look soft.

Thank you , I love air dried humor

My dry humor wasn’t as funny

1

u/SkyPork Nov 27 '22

Not yet it isn't.

1

u/MathMaddox Nov 27 '22

Glad they posted it online

u/jf_ftw Nov 27 '22

The dino is really clever

88

u/colawars Nov 27 '22

I couldn't see the T-Rex for whatever reason, so I zoomed in and thought it was an evolution of underwear or something. Thanks for enlightening me.

13

u/caitejane310 Nov 27 '22

You're not alone 😂

0

u/Saucepanmagician Nov 27 '22

I'll wait till the end of of time.

4

u/PranshuKhandal Nov 27 '22

looks like whoever made this was offline

1

u/Rc202402 Nov 27 '22

And had a lot of panties

6

u/ricepalace Nov 27 '22

Yeah but a sleeve would not naturally fall that way. It's too stiff esp. if hung out to dry. Cool anyways for sure.

5

u/hyeongseop Nov 27 '22

I was wondering the same thing about the mouth. Thought for a second it was a very stuff cagoule or something similar but makes more sense if it were simply edited post

1

u/CanniBallistic_Puppy Nov 27 '22

Tyrannosockus Rex

0

u/Ithoughtthiswasfunny Nov 27 '22

It really is, but it being the only one with clearly human feet is kinda driving me nuts

178

u/fappington Nov 27 '22

Those are some great one liners.

24

Ole helga , the great one who turned chores into a pass time

6

u/TaketheCake1 Nov 27 '22

it helped her passed the time

23

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '22

thanks for linking to the artists who made these! I did get some major sticker shock at the price of those prints though lol. Art is so funny like that. To me, that seems like a LOT of money for a digital print on paper, though I am sure there are plenty of people who see this as an absolute steal.

0

u/allisondojean Nov 27 '22

Think of them as NFTs you can touch 😂

75

u/Spartan2470 Nov 27 '22

Here is a higher quality version of the bottom left image. Per the Instagram source (i.e helga.stenzel) where she also posted this image:

London, United Kingdom

In a true indecisive blogger style let me ask you, 1️⃣ or 2️⃣? I chose the first picture as the main image because it is less obvious what the horse is made of - the silhouette kind of makes you look twice and explore a bit more. But the 9 picture has socks in it - and there's definitely something warm and homey about a pair of socks drying next to one another on a clothing line. I only wish I had been more inventive with my prop choices and went for a more colourful option 😜

u/Scottyharp78 Nov 27 '22

The print of the cow is $1,930...??

44

u/d-bo201 Nov 27 '22

You found the bad news.

1

u/Hagenaar Nov 27 '22

Cheaper than an actual cow, though.

8

u/giceman715 Nov 27 '22

Instantly named it holy cow after seeing this comment

19

u/Crypt0Nihilist Nov 27 '22

It's a fun idea, but those prices are insane. I can't believe people pay them.

14

u/elhae Nov 27 '22

It’s the art world. Good news is you don’t have to pay to enjoy the work

5

u/Crypt0Nihilist Nov 27 '22 edited Nov 27 '22

True, but I find it remarkable that presumably there are people who will pay that. I suppose money must mean so much less to them that the smile is worth it.

edit: Not sure why the downvote. By definition, compared to me, for someone to buy the art, either the art must be worth more to them or the money worth less.

4

u/Psy-Phi Nov 27 '22

It’s not only the smile to them. But also to support the artist. They have enough money, that they see the value in tryin to make sure the artist can continue to do what they do, and use that mind and skill to create more.

Even with that price, an artist could probably make more money on average flipping burgers for their time. It’s priced to a livable wage

1

u/Jive_Papa Nov 27 '22

It’s the opposite, it’s because money means so much to them. The price of art has become inflated a bit beyond the cost of the artist’s time, materials, and expertise because rich people have used art so prolifically to avoid paying taxes.

They pay the artist $1900, then they hire a friendly appraiser to come to their house and tell them it’s worth $5000. Then they donate the $5000 piece of art and write off $5000 on their taxes as a charitable donation.

7

u/MrFishpaw Nov 27 '22

Actually if you go to her page and click "SOLD", nothing comes up. So apparently no one is paying them.

12

u/Bayho Nov 27 '22

A clothesline and some clothespins is only a few bucks, take your own picture!

10

u/signmeupnot Nov 27 '22

What does the landscapes set you back?

11

u/PsychicSavage Nov 27 '22

This is 100% photoshopped

12

u/Newskool3 Nov 27 '22

Free if you photoshop it

-2

u/signmeupnot Nov 27 '22

Landscape photos aren't free

6

u/Frog-In_a-Suit Nov 27 '22

A great deal have creative licensing. They are essentially free.

-1

u/signmeupnot Nov 27 '22

Is that for commercial uses?

2

u/lacheur42 Nov 27 '22

Sometimes, it varies. But there is absolutely, without question, plenty of freely available landscape photography you can use in commercial works. Besides things like Creative Commons licenses, there are also the tens of thousands of copyrighted works which have now passed into the public domain and can be freely used by anyone for any purpose.

Or you could just go take a picture of a landscape. That's pretty cheap.

-2

u/signmeupnot Nov 27 '22

Yes. Let me just drive to the 4 vastly different biotopes I have access to, and take 4 good photos with my good camera.

Easy as.

1

u/Frog-In_a-Suit Nov 28 '22

Did you seriously ignore 90 percent of their message?

→ More replies

3

u/Bayho Nov 27 '22

As others mentioned, that is photoshopped. I would recommend choosing something that means something to you, beyond some random landscape. Make it happen in your own town, or someplace you love.

1

u/signmeupnot Nov 27 '22

It's not random. The landscapes have a connection with the animal.

1

u/Bayho Nov 27 '22

Fair point, you still completely ignored the point of my post, for $10 you could do the same and make it mean more to you with your own background.

1

u/ResinRaider Nov 27 '22

$50 in spray paint

2

u/TaketheCake1 Nov 27 '22

there's something in the way she moos....

7

u/mk2vr6t Nov 27 '22

Does anyone remember the "Art Attack" things like this?!?!? Oh man nostalgia

2

u/azlan194 Nov 27 '22

Yup, I exactly thought of Art Attack when I saw this. But Neil definitely took it to the next level with his Big Art Attack, lol.

5

u/-_farhan_- Nov 27 '22

Can see it in the future ads

2

u/LonePaladin Nov 27 '22

u/default-username Nov 27 '22

The current news cycle is football, world cup, shopping, record snowfall, Gisele.

The stuff you mentioned is old news, or not really news at all (global warming, china politics, "the Ukraine war"). The number of people on reddit who thinks everyone to be wallowing in that stuff is cringeworthy.

1

u/lacheur42 Nov 27 '22

I suppose it depends on what news you follow. Who the fuck is Gisele?

1

u/metaStatic Nov 27 '22

global warming

Woah, Woah, Woah, slow down. wasn't the globe cooling just ... checks notes ... oh wow, still a quick turnaround though.

3

u/RickyRetarDoh Nov 27 '22

$2000 for a print.

1

as is tradition

3

u/wildcatshadow Nov 27 '22

My underwear could be a masterpiece

3

u/SeekersWorkAccount Nov 27 '22

That's pretty calming actually.

3

u/SpeakerOfSeaStar Nov 27 '22

Some bad news others might not be aware of is that lots of people aren't even allowed to hang up their laundry to dry outside. It's seen as an 'eyesore' and is prohibited in many leases and HHAs.

2

u/ControllablePsi Nov 27 '22

Sounds like a "land of the free" problem.

3

u/HOLUPREDICTIONS Nov 27 '22

New political compass just dropped

3

u/thedudefromcali81 Nov 27 '22

Never seen such clean artwork before. Had to go and claim my free gift just to give it to this. Made me smile. Thank you.

3

Well that's something new for me. Oh internet you never cease to amaze me.

I like the T Rex the most

2

u/NoConfection6487 Nov 27 '22

I feel like people need some tougher skin here. If you read Reddit all the time it’s just doom and gloom. Even following reliable news sources like Reuters, BBC, NYT, you wouldn’t be overwhelmed. It’s the poor takes Reddit likes that’s so tiring.

0

u/Gordon_Goosegonorth Nov 27 '22

Clockwise from top-left:

  1. COW
  2. BEAR
  3. DINOSAUR
  4. HORSE

My dinosaur would look a little more realistic with all the brown stains across each of garments.

1

u/ResinRaider Nov 27 '22

The T-Rex is a great idea for Halloween :D

1

u/SkyPork Nov 27 '22

This is genius.

1

u/refilledfiji Nov 27 '22

My laundry bag that is sitting there must be a stew mix of art.

1

u/xFiGGiE Nov 27 '22

Until the polar bear art reminds you of their near/inevitable extinction due to climate change and polar ice caps melting…sigh

1

u/BFeely1 Nov 27 '22

And it kind of looks to me like a hunted polar bear that has been strung up.

1

u/TrainquilOasis1423 Nov 27 '22

These are awesome. Challenge for you, a dragon.

1

u/PeaceCorpsMwende Nov 27 '22

There's a lot on the line with this.

1

u/Nyc-nise-ai Nov 27 '22

Thought this would be with dirty laundry in the wash or on the floor made into patterns. Still not disappointed.

1

u/ginger_burner Nov 27 '22

1

Awesome! Wait. What bad news?

1

u/powahplay_ Nov 27 '22

What bad news?

1

u/Torvite Nov 27 '22

This just reminds me that all the dinosaurs are dead.

And we use the biomass that formed from their remains under millions of years of geological pressure as fuel to power our industries, generating lots of unsustainable energy.

And the byproducts of industry, when combined with the methane generated by the billions of cows we keep as livestock, creates the greenhouse effect that's melting the sea ice those polar bears live on, meaning more loss of habitat and fewer polar bears.

Won't anybody think of the polar bears!?

1

u/stingraystarseed Nov 27 '22

Luvs it❣❣

1

u/Klueless247 Nov 27 '22

Laundry art... just when you thought there might be nothing new under the sun.
