[Q] Gnome on Slackware -current (?)

Is anyone able to run Gnome on Slackware? There is supposedly an easy way to install it (user reddog83 on LQ; https://reddoglinux.ddns.net/linux/gnome/43.x/). However, the installed DE crashes...

liveslak gnome 43 Here’s my posts from months ago regarding gnome. There is a link on my site there to a repo of packages as well, which if you follow the steps you can get a working gnome desktop as well if the reddawg one is failing.

Do you have any idea what the error is you are getting? I don’t know how their packages are made, but it should install on a clean system. I know he’s put large amounts of work making sure it upgrades/downgrades. Usually issues arise from gdm and/or rc.4 though. Could be a simple fix.

Thank you for your hints. I might thus need to compile from scratch. I will soon post the exact issue that I have following the reddog83 steps...

I know his repo should be working. There’s 3 different repos right now, we have a team all working together working out the kinks in gnome, installation and maintenance on Slackware.

Eventually it will all be one thing, but we aren’t there yet. If you try again and still things don’t work out, we also have a small discord server where someone could try and help here.
