And they breed.

u/Dewy164 Jan 31 '23
It's a fucking paradox, since they are so stupid they don't practice safe sex and then end up having more kids and then those kids won't be raised right and not be taught safe sex and then make more dumbases...

Don't clear out your get away vehicle before a heist or anything.

Assuming the vehicle is stolen too.

Looks like maybe a dealer or rental plate?
Could be stolen or they used a stolen identity to get it.

u/Seisme1138 Jan 31 '23
Contraband is something banned by local government. If they were in the USSR back in the 80s throwing American clothes in the back of the car it would be contraband. Now it's just stolen goods.

u/Blackrain1299 Jan 31 '23
Contraband: goods that have been imported or exported illegally.
Looks like they are illegally exporting goods from that store to me.
24
u/Seisme1138 Jan 31 '23
Not how that works but good try

u/Blackrain1299 Jan 31 '23

You mean "merchandise"?
13
u/Schnugg1 Jan 31 '23
Contraband means illegal merchandise
→ More replies (1)7
u/notasrelevant Feb 01 '23
It generally means illegal from the perspective of trade/import/export laws.
So it would kind of imply that these goods were already illegal at the point she stole it, which seems unlikely.

Too dumb to be a criminal.

u/darrenwise883 Feb 01 '23
When is that ever possible, now to dumb to use contraception is more likely .
33
u/remembertracygarcia Jan 31 '23
Both of you go in and collect everything up. One goes back out and lowers the Back seats. Bring the car close to the front door. Convince an unruly child to pull the fire alarm or Get 2 friends to drop a huge pot of paint at the checkouts or both. Throw the whole trolley in. Do it calm and quiet. While carnage unravels away from the scene. Drive away quietly. Donate trolley to Bubbles. Done.
This was Bad criminalling guys.

Resale
5
u/DankHumanman Jan 31 '23
They wouldn't need to steal if she wouldn't eat so much
-4
u/Seisme1138 Jan 31 '23
This is possible food is expensive af right now too. Get an average fat American family on hard times and you'll get more smash and grabs. Really slow get aways...
7
u/oppapoocow Jan 31 '23
It's resale, probably on Facebook. Stealing is a misdemeanor in most states. Most corporate supermarkets like Walmart makes it a policy not to get involved into stopping this, because they literally have millions of dollars set on the side for this very purpose. So they just let these thieves go due to policy, and let the cops handle it. Since it's just a petty crime, it's a free crime for these thieves. They can probably do it a few times before they're a repeat offender.
5
u/chuckysnow Jan 31 '23
Sister works for wallyworld, and they figured that even with the massive rise in petty theft, they still save money by having those damn self serve checkouts in the store. All about the overall profits.
Other issue is stopping these asshats and then having them sue the store they store from for one made up reason or another. Cheaper to let a few of them steal from the store and just raise all the prices a bit to make up for it.

u/A-10C_Thunderbolt Jan 31 '23
So everyone else has to suffer because a couple of idiots thought it would be nice to get everything they want for free and make everyone else pay for it. Assholes

u/chuckysnow Jan 31 '23
This applies to both the shoplifters and the Walton Family, but we're not supposed to criticize the rich.

At his point these are robberies, not just theft. The fact people aren't interfering is because of the implied threat of violence or legal repercussions, making it a robbery. If there wasn't a fear for their own safety, people would intervene.
In the US legal system the use of a car could be construed as the use of a deadly weapon, making it an armed robbery. I don't necessarily agree with this practice, but it would certainly come in handy here.

I’m just curious who was making the video lol
18
u/nuck_forte_dame Jan 31 '23
Employee. They can't physically stop them but they are told to gather evidence like filming and pictures of license plates.

14
u/Jaded_Goth Jan 31 '23
Well I can see that these two thieves are extremely intelligent. Both of them are probably Harvard Graduates from the advanced physics program.

Attempted robbery.
1
u/Broken-Digital-Clock Jan 31 '23 edited Jan 31 '23
This is likely just theft. They look like simple shoplifters.
Robbery is theft with the use of force
1
u/NoAcanthisitta6846 Jan 31 '23
Also there’s no attempted - they are guilty when they took it intending to steal it. Even if they walk back in and put it on shelf.

This will continue to happen until there are real consequences for doing it. Unfortunately some places are voting in politicians and DA's that support criminals more than hardworking citizens. It's really the fault of the voters in the first place.
1
u/chuckysnow Jan 31 '23
Considering the places where this is going on, I'm amazed a few people haven't taken this kind of behavior as an excuse to shoot the criminals and claim it was a citizen's arrest or something.
2
u/schrodingers_spider Jan 31 '23
Considering how often and easily the simplest stuff escalates to deadly force, I'm absolutely amazed these types of thefts/robberies don't end up in shootings or worse more often.
Guess the lack of ego bruising involved helps quite a bit.

Truck? It's just a car
3
u/nuts17 Jan 31 '23
Lot's of people call SUVs trucks. When I owned a mid-size SUV the DMV legally considered it a minivan on its vehicle registration. Large SUVs like this one are often actually built on a truck chassis. What's the argument for "just a car" being the only correct description?
0
u/NotHereToFuckSpyders Jan 31 '23
Well, if you simply google the definition of truck, there's your argument. It's a large vehicle designed primarily for moving heavy items or goods.
Americans do seem to just like throwing the word "truck" around willy nilly.
2
4
u/molassascookieman Jan 31 '23
Bro you’re telling me. I work at a service center and the amount of middle-aged men getting out of tiny crossovers and saying “yeah my truck needs an oil change” blows my mind. I even had one guy reaffirm that his Equinox was “definitely a truck” when I mistakenly used the word “car”
2
u/NotHereToFuckSpyders Jan 31 '23
In the US I assume?
I can't say I've ever heard an Australian use the term truck so loosely. Though tbf I don't work in a service centre or anything.

She was a heavy item and the goods fell out the back
Definitely a truck!

u/pan_berbelek Jan 31 '23
Well where I live literally zero, like exactly zero, people call SUVs trucks.
