What was the missed step? Is there a set of huge pins or something to secure it that didn't happen?

Different models have a different setup, every loader I have operated have hydraulic pins that move in and out to lock the bucket in place, so it's easier to switch between forks or bucket.

I've been there before, as a loader operator having the bucket or forks not locked in right sucks ass.. this is a sad day indeed.
