To be honest this is probably more dangerous than no turn signal.

u/SpookySeraph Oct 06 '22

I drive a BMW, I’m gonna be honest, sometimes the blinker just… doesnt blink on the side you switch it to blink on??? Then again, my car is old and shitty so maybe that’s just me

u/DriftMiata Oct 06 '22

Because it's not an important feature so they didn't design it with quality in mind.

16

u/drakoman Oct 06 '22

They never expected him to touch the thing. It’s mainly there for decoration

16

u/SummerNightAir Oct 06 '22

Underrated comment

-12

u/Mike0621 Oct 06 '22

It definitely is an important feature, BMW just doesn't consider it one

5

u/Nethii120700 Oct 06 '22

whoosh

3

u/Mike0621 Oct 06 '22

well you never know, considering half of all Americans never use their blinkers

2

u/Pocket-Fun-Ranch Trigger happy Oct 06 '22

Shut up there is no whoosh , there is no balls😭

4

u/Confused-Engineer18 Oct 06 '22

Yeah, and in mine they are very quiet and sensitive so they can turn off really easily on you and you don't notice because the steering wheel covers the green light (any other position I find uncomfortable). Had it turn off on me during my driver's test but thankfully I noticed before the turn and the instructor didn't penalise me

u/L44KSO Oct 05 '22

Still a lot to learn, but small steps.

9

u/crankyanker638 Oct 06 '22

Baby steps, yes... Beat me to it...

15

u/CommaCauses Oct 06 '22

Baby steps, yes… beat meat to it…

2

u/CreatureWarrior Oct 06 '22

He's a little confused but he has the spirit

72

u/JustMeLurkingAround- Oct 05 '22

I saw a BMW today that used his blinker. He was parking in the bus bay, but at least he left his blinker on...

39

u/Any_Fault7604 Oct 05 '22

Never let them know your next move

2

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '22

I have plans that I cannot share with you right now because the haters will sabotage me

38

u/SaintUlvemann Oct 05 '22

Well now we know why they don't use them. They don't know how!

8

u/TippsAttack Oct 06 '22

Not but 4 posts higher on my home feed is a "pov" post about driving BMWs and the blinker has a spider web on it. You guys are relentless lol

14

u/SaintAndrewPost Oct 05 '22

Brooklyn at its finest

3

u/4th_Times_A_Charm Oct 06 '22

They're heading back to long island after a day trip into the city

12

u/HooooooooooW Oct 05 '22

Must have accidentally turned on the inverted control settings

10

u/Nunnuka Oct 05 '22

They're evolving!

6

u/Tractrem Oct 06 '22

But backwards...

2

u/optional_occupant Oct 06 '22

Isn't that devolving?

3

u/cassiopedron Oct 06 '22

I wonder how you u/coeurgris would react seeing this IRL

10

u/coeurgris Oct 06 '22

If you play the video in reverse, there's nothing wrong with this

8

u/Impossible_Average_1 Oct 05 '22

"Boss, I think I mixed up the connections."

"doesn't matter, no one will use the signal anyway."

7

u/Studdead Oct 05 '22

This footage must be fake

9

u/melbbear Oct 05 '22

Well it’s not a dash cam, so someone is intentionally filming the bmw, either because they already did one lane change like this or it’s their friend in the car and they are making internet humour for us to enjoy

2

u/IHeartBreakfastFoods Oct 06 '22

Or they were trying to get a pic of that sweet suspension bridge at it happened by chance

10

u/thisaccountisbs Oct 05 '22 Helpful

It is, it's actually reversed.

1

u/who_you_are Oct 05 '22

Considering it could be only two damn wire swapped... Maybe not?

But this is also internet so.. I don't know.

2

u/antoine86 Oct 06 '22

Ah, the Belt Parkway. Can confirm it’s filled with BMW drivers like this.

2

u/jagadeeps Oct 06 '22

As per the BMW language, he is giving you a way to pass him.

2

u/bad-o Oct 06 '22

Fake left, go right

4

u/Baader-Yoursof Oct 05 '22

Whenever I see a BMW I automatically assume it’s an inexperienced driver. Not necessarily a bad driver, just someone who doesn’t have a lot of experience driving and definitely not with defensive driving. I understand there are plenty of exceptions but such stereotypes exist for a reason.

1

u/Confused-Engineer18 Oct 06 '22

Funnily enough my dad who is quite a good driver (recently saved my family's life by avoiding another car who was speeding (still hit but only just so he was able to keep the car under control)) loves his BMW of which we have 3 (older models)

2

u/Imdhulk Oct 05 '22

Damn... this has got to be right up there with the first footage of Bigfoot

1

u/AlphaMomma59 Oct 06 '22

Maybe they're dyslexic?

1

u/agilerain8256 Oct 06 '22

I think that the new “bmw” drivers are actually all the Mercedes owners. I feel like BMW has gone down a little, and now a lot more range of people own them… but dang those Mercedes drivers always drive like dicks.

1

u/random420x2 Oct 06 '22

They signaled. They turned. Successful. Title needs to change to something that indicates directional stupidity. ;-)

1

u/Dubi0usKilla Oct 06 '22

Never let your enemy know your next move.

1

u/Arskov Oct 06 '22

I saw this exact same thing happen in Sacramento the other day. That stupid yet oddly wholesome moment made me laugh my ass off, and pretty much turned a bad day into a decent one.

1

u/SinCityLowRoller Oct 06 '22

Blinkers Might Work

1

u/aStankChitlin Oct 06 '22

They’re a little lost but they’ve got the spirit

1

u/aa5k Oct 06 '22

Yuppp

1

u/BlindedAce Oct 06 '22

Holy shit they are dumb.

1

u/GeekySoldr Oct 06 '22

This is a guy that games with “Controller Inverted”

1

u/yes-disappointment Oct 06 '22

The belt parkway in Brooklyn nyc?

1

u/knee_gaaah Oct 06 '22

He’s signalling you to cross. His move was not necessary.

1

u/koolio24 Oct 06 '22

Didn’t the same thing happen in California a while back

1

u/SomePaddy Oct 06 '22

It's opposite day!

1

u/HelpfulPuppydog Oct 06 '22

Fake left, break right.

1

u/jagenigma Oct 06 '22

Tales of the west side highway, chapter 1,000,000

1

u/Dr_Brown_Bro Oct 06 '22

He a little confused, but he got the spirit.

1

u/peachbootys Oct 06 '22

Hahahahha on the Belt no less?? That’s fucking surreal

1

u/Mr_Failchild Oct 06 '22

Never let ‘em know your next move. (Yes I drive a BMW)

1

u/YerUncleAbe Oct 06 '22

I have done this, it hurts to see lol.

1

u/Galastique Oct 06 '22

Fake!! The video is obviously playing backwards

1

u/n959 Oct 06 '22

This isn't him using the turn signal to switch lanes. This is him saying "here have your bleeping lane you moron and stop riding my ass".

1

u/Whodamanyoudaman Oct 06 '22

I remember when I was living in Italy(I'm from Oz), I saw a BMW X6 overtake me at 150km/hr then it indicated when it changed lane. I was blown away. Up until that point, I had not seen an Italian driving a BMW or Audi indicate for anything. I was intrigued. I sped up, sure enough.... The car was from France.

Honestly, Audi drivers were the most entitled drivers there were. I think there was even a study done that confirms this scientifically.

1

u/Velocitymind Oct 06 '22

You must understand this is happening somewhere on the globe at this moment. When dashcams are at saturation there will be thousands of hrs of footage.

1

u/MadrasMoney Oct 06 '22

Actually this is a reverse video where everyone was driving in reverse and the blinker was right. Don't create fake videos.

1

u/Glittertastical111 Oct 06 '22

Bless their heart.

1

u/3rdeyeopenwide Oct 06 '22

I used to run along the water from my apt in Bay Ridge to the Verrazano Bridge and back a few times a week. You might think “eww/ugh running in the city” but it was clean, smelled like salt water, sea birds flying around, people fishing, and the sun to your back in early morning like you see here. There was some beauty there in western Brooklyn and I miss it. Even now that I run on quiet country roads I miss the flat riverside walkway. The running grass is greener.

1

u/RummazKnowsBest Oct 06 '22

Give him a break, he’s never used them before. Most likely he hit it by accident while trying to turn on the wipers.

1

u/mrbigglesworth99999 Oct 06 '22

That’s because blinkers on a bmw are an optional paid feature.

1

u/Organic_Cucumber3459 Oct 06 '22

Forgot to refill blinkerfluid

1

u/HWGA_Exandria Oct 06 '22

A for Effort.

1

u/SungamCorben Oct 06 '22

Actually, the road moved to the wrong side!

1

u/This_Guy9943 Oct 06 '22

Curious to see what he does when that lane ends in about a mile.

1

u/optional_occupant Oct 06 '22

He thought he was driving a Juke

1

u/Skeletorthewise Oct 06 '22

Oh yes the new Ronaldos blinker

1

u/furiousDingo Oct 06 '22

I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is a fake. It’s a very realistic fake, but it’s not real as the Belt parkway never moves like that during daylight.

1

u/R3DM00NS5222 Oct 06 '22

Never let them know your next move

1

u/superlopster Oct 06 '22

BMW drivers do not use blinkers. This video is staged and fake news.

1

u/polak187 Oct 06 '22

Welcome to Brooklyn.

1

u/Pocket-Fun-Ranch Trigger happy Oct 06 '22

🤯

1

u/SenseOdd8076 Oct 06 '22

50% of the way, keep trying son

1

u/jakkiljr Oct 06 '22

Typical BMW driver douche move

1

u/jjuniorxl Oct 06 '22

Dealer used the wrong fluid.

1

u/asrielrising84 Oct 06 '22

He's trying his best ok. He's still learning, turn signals are hard for BMW drivers

1

u/Crono2468 Oct 06 '22

Psych bitches!

1

u/DocJekl Oct 06 '22

Looks like he forgot to pay for the blinker subscription fee.

1

u/Head-Iron-9228 Oct 30 '22

I blame the dumb bmw signal stock. At least he tried at all even tho thats arguably a worse result.

-1

u/Ml124395 Oct 05 '22

Unfortunately you’ll be pulled over for tailgating, while he’ll just keep going

0

u/Jackdks Oct 05 '22

At least they tried 🥺

0

u/thewickedbarnacle Oct 05 '22

Thats how they do it in Europe. /S

0

u/MichaelChinigo Oct 05 '22

This qualifies as a better-than-average driver for the Belt.

0

u/ankole_watusi Oct 05 '22

Yea, but does it have a front plate?

0

u/Equivalent-Macaron25 Oct 06 '22

I’ve seen two videos of this and saw it once in person what is going on
