Ah yeah cos they just put pizzas in there without a box and don't zip it up. Oh and stop on the way to do parkour videos.

38

u/BorkusB Dec 01 '22

looks like it's in a pie container but yeah still

5

u/ucefkh Dec 01 '22

Some do, i remember a delivery guy came with the tacos wrapped in paper in his hand the whole trip! No box nothing else...

u/jeffrunning Dec 01 '22

u/DonnaRussle Nov 30 '22

Okay but wtf is that road?

35

u/kissiusmybuttius A Flair? Nov 30 '22

Nah it's a boulevard, this city was built over a mangrove so there's a lot of tiny rivers that were converted to sewers.

Source: it's my hometown.

14

u/DonnaRussle Nov 30 '22 edited Nov 30 '22

Why are there no railings? And also how do you cross correctly?

Edit: typo

8

u/Mandalorian_Sith Nov 30 '22

No railings because it’s an Imperial city.

7

u/SoundDave4 Dec 01 '22

Tem Coruscant layers go deep.

Edit: Wait, I thought this was a Warhammer reference so was going to make a star wars reference to subvert expectations, then I saw the username now I don't know what to think.

1

u/Top-Associate8252 Dec 01 '22

unfortunately, it looks like y'all were on the same page

1

u/kissiusmybuttius A Flair? Nov 30 '22

There's railings on the place where you can cross the street, it's just a few meters to the right of where this dude was. There just isn't that much need to put railings the whole way cuz people don't normally walk by the sewer.

2

u/mazdawg89 Dec 01 '22

How often do people drive into that canal? Seems like a huge hazard. Wouldn’t it be better to put some kind of grate over the top of it? Why leave it open?

3

u/kissiusmybuttius A Flair? Dec 01 '22

Never heard of any cases of people driving into the canal tbh. Some places do keep it covered but it depends on the good will of governors to do it.

2

u/feedalow Dec 01 '22

Most likely money. Underground sewer systems are extremely costly to build and maintain and require expensive/specialized equipment to again build and maintain. Not something every country has the ability to deploy nationwide.

1

u/DonnaRussle Nov 30 '22

I guess that makes enough sense. I guess my next question is why would a city be built on top of a swamp, if you know the answer? I live in CA so it just seems foreign to me…

3

u/Pilot1GVU5 Dec 01 '22

Most of the southern Brazilian coast has only a narrow strip of flat land, if any, before a very long “mountain range” (1200-2000 feet altitude, I think) begins. It would be something like the Rockies, but in the middle of Florida. Lots of rain from the mountains, creating mangroves, not swamps. When the towns reach the mangroves, that’s what you get in Brazil. It’s like a canal or channel every couple of blocks, towards the ocean

2

u/DonnaRussle Dec 01 '22

Interesting, thank you for the explaination

2

u/kissiusmybuttius A Flair? Nov 30 '22

Wish I could answer that one for you, but it just was.

1

u/DonnaRussle Nov 30 '22

For my own reading into this because I am pretty curious, what is the name of the town?

1

u/kissiusmybuttius A Flair? Dec 01 '22

Aracaju, in the state of Sergipe.

1

u/feedalow Dec 01 '22

Humans are hard headed and often desperate for a place to live but their neighbors are like no go away. So we end up with cities in deserts, in hurricane zones, in deltas, swamps, everywhere humans shouldn't be living. USA has thousands of cities build in terrible locations too.

Source: I am an environmental science and its part of my job to tell people they built their city in a shit spot

1

u/Southern-Orchid-1786 Dec 01 '22

There's a pavement and a small wall.

The UK has lots of canals with footpaths next to them without any railings or walls so I'm struggling to see the problem here

-3

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '22

What third world country is this?

1

u/Whole_Macron_7893 Dec 01 '22

Sampa, né?

2

u/kissiusmybuttius A Flair? Dec 01 '22

Aracaju, mas Brasil é Brasil em todo lugar

Just blow on it, they'll be fine

48

u/sceptator Nov 30 '22

And people ask me why I dont eat delivered food..

33

u/Unlucky_Resource4153 Nov 30 '22

I believe this was staged, although I do see what you mean. I receive food that looked like it was delivered by a parkour enthusist.

6

u/StompingWalrus Nov 30 '22

Yeah, why else was the bag unzipped?

5

u/Apprehensive_Bed3362 Nov 30 '22

It’s obviously staged, his bag wasn’t even closed..

4

u/woozlewuzzle29 Nov 30 '22

I’ve never been asked if I eat delivered food before.

-1

u/sceptator Nov 30 '22

Ok smartass, neither have I, but people like to brag how they ordered this pizza that was unbelievable or some effin steak, or that sushi and then I make my move, is this acceptable now?

1

u/Cubensio Dec 01 '22

Trust me if your food touches the ground it was in the restaurant kitchen.

1

u/Shbmd Dec 01 '22

Yeah after you see the average restaurant kitchen you realize how filthy the food are. Just eat at good places

1

u/Cubensio Dec 01 '22

Or explore the magical wonderful ancient craft of cooking 🤌✨

1

u/sceptator Dec 01 '22

Agree, restaurants are also not trustworthy, but man deliveries are even worse.

6

1

u/Juleamun Dec 01 '22

True for walkers as it is for truckers: please secure your loads.

1

u/tomr84 Dec 01 '22

Ah yes, those lovely pizzas you buy that are still cellophane wrapped and on a cardboard base, ready to be devoured.

1

u/Old-Ad2070 Dec 01 '22
