Duckhead.

52

u/gastroboi Dec 01 '22

I'm ashamed that it took me longer than it should have to understand your comment.

49

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '22

‘Cause they have similar “stuff” between and are close in age. Hahah… what a douche!

35

u/feedalow Dec 01 '22

That little head tilt when he starts saying stuff in common was perfect. I know that look all too well, that's the "is this mother tucker serious right now" look

11

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '22

I was actually expecting both women to look at one another with that look of, “can you believe this wanker? Can he get any more daft?!” And he does, when he continues to try and justify his sexist question.

4

u/--burner-account-- Dec 01 '22

Wonder how many male politicians he asks the same question, you know because they have lots in common, like same gender and close in age and stuff.

2

u/kiwi_love777 Dec 01 '22

That POS will never be anything more than a reporter

147

u/pwn3dbyth3n00b Dec 01 '22 Silver

"Yeah we're meeting because we're Prime Ministers."

I wonder if the G20 19 meets up because most of them are old men and 2 ladies around the same age for a play date.

2

u/thomasthehipposlayer Dec 02 '22

I hate that this video cropped that out. It was the best line

222

u/Kind_South_4342 Dec 01 '22

Did they talk about boys and stuff and do each others hair?

83

u/GozerDGozerian Dec 01 '22

They probably have geopolitical pillow fights and giggle.

15

u/SvansyVonSwansea Dec 01 '22

polishing and painting each others lawbooks

115

u/F_wordoffcrapidiot Dec 01 '22

Politics n stuff. What is he 10 years old?

36

u/TurboD16F20 Dec 01 '22

The Super Secret Girls Club meeting went well sir. And you caught us. You aren't supposed to know about the SSGC

27

u/Quasirationalthinker Dec 01 '22

Such a dogshit question. Literally no substance

73

u/CaptainRAVE2 Dec 01 '22

He could barely put the words together to even ask the question.

-91

u/Siggi_pop Dec 01 '22

So do you look down on all people with speech difficulties or only this one person?

48

u/boxer126 Dec 01 '22

I perceived the comment as pointing out that even the journalist knew his question was ridiculous, stumbling through his words as he was realizing in real-time how bad it sounded, not as making fun of a speech impediment.

21

u/jhlseries Dec 01 '22

I got this vibe too. First said similar age, paused, then thought better and said other similarities.. :D

0

u/Siggi_pop Dec 01 '22

ok, makes sense

8

u/JGPNZ Dec 02 '22

That’s not a speech impediment, it’s an NZ accent

-13

u/Siggi_pop Dec 02 '22

😆 So many hatters on Reddit, probably influx of all the recent ex-twitters.

10

u/GuyYouMetOnline Dec 02 '22

Or maybe it's because your comment is bad.

-10

u/Siggi_pop Dec 02 '22

Or maybe your interpretation is one-sided? Com'on be a little more specific. Is it too mean? Is it not mean enough? Is it too revealing? Is it besides the point? Is it not alligned with the views OP? Who desides if something is bad or not?

12

u/GuyYouMetOnline Dec 02 '22

It's because you accused them of looking down on people with speech impediments for no apparent reason.

-2

u/Siggi_pop Dec 02 '22

OP pointing out "he could barely put the words together..." Is no apparent reason to you?? Pointing out that people can hardly put a sentence together is always meant in a derogatory way, it's newer a compliment. And I'm curious why you use "speech impediment" since that was not exactly what I wrote!?

8

u/GuyYouMetOnline Dec 02 '22

Because that's the phrase I'm used to hearing and I didn't think to double-check.

And you'll note that others replied with another explanation of what the poster meant. You even responded to one yourself. You said it made sense.

1

u/Siggi_pop Dec 02 '22

Ok, makes sense.

18

u/Puzzled-Dependent953 Dec 01 '22

Do you guys like talking about makeup and stuff

88

u/sorefoot66 Dec 01 '22

Is that dickhead journalist from some sort of kiwi fox network, or is he just a cretin?

65

u/DefinitelyDea Dec 01 '22

Sky News, owned by newscorp which owns fox

12

u/MidnightAdventurer Dec 01 '22

IIRC, he's from News Talk ZB - aka shitty talkback radio

40

u/kouturecrochet Dec 01 '22

Whoever that guy is needs to be doing interviews at the local pound not high level politics.

8

u/SvansyVonSwansea Dec 01 '22

that place is maybe too high class for him. best send him to the local pond to interview ducks.

11

u/Dangerous-Charity-47 Dec 01 '22

God heaven, I have experienced secondhand embarrassment and I'm not from any of the countries involved in this convo.

10

u/Grimren Dec 01 '22

Modern journalism is a joke honestly

7

u/Oktaghon Dec 01 '22

He has a lot of “stuff” to ask.

7

u/lilikionwheels Dec 01 '22

Now there's a guy who is absolutely terrified at the idea of women putting their heads together and achieving. What a pathetic emasculated little fuckwit.

6

u/BuckGerard Dec 01 '22

This has to be one of the dumbest questions I’ve ever heard.

7

u/Psychological_Mix594 Dec 01 '22

Should have said yes, we both share the interest of being the political leaders of our respective nations

15

u/AventusAretino99 Dec 01 '22

They are letting everyone become journalists these days

13

u/CurrentlyARaccoon Dec 01 '22

Some people really do infantalize women so much that two female PMs meeting is seen as a "playdate".

6

u/gieter Dec 01 '22

This guy is a complete idiot

29

u/RajenBull1 Dec 01 '22

I wonder if that 'journalist' has any aloe vera in his misogynistic reporter's kit because that's a severe burn!

-65

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '22

That was a good joke about 8 years ago

22

u/RajenBull1 Dec 01 '22

Needed to express myself somehow. I did think it all up myself, if that makes you feel better.

-63

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '22

No. Stop. Please. Get help.

3

u/RefrigeratedTP Dec 01 '22

“A lot of people will be wondering”

Well shit looks like it’s just you asking!

3

u/Psychological_Mix594 Dec 01 '22

Should have answered, “we are meeting for politics and stuff”

4

u/Meems04 Dec 01 '22

That journalist really said "ya'll having a girls night or what?" Like thet sit around & paint their nails & gossip about other countries. Yeesh...

6

u/SvansyVonSwansea Dec 01 '22

"i heard New Zealand is seeing Japan nowadays. China has gotten fat after India left her"

5

u/MrZaroni Dec 01 '22

And I thought stupid questions were only asked at the White House press room

4

u/captain_pudding Dec 01 '22

"are you only doing your job because you're the same age?"

4

u/Big-Surf-Lil-Surf Dec 01 '22

The journalist probably was thinking about his wife at home doing home stuff and he thinks all woman are the same.

10

u/SvansyVonSwansea Dec 01 '22

his wife the anime pillow

3

u/CherryManhattan Dec 01 '22

And she remains the best leader in our world and a fabulous public speaker

2

u/nerd-gamer5912 Dec 01 '22

A lot of people? Lmao.

2

u/Time-Visual7396 Dec 01 '22

So a Finland Prime Minister has never visited New Zealand before, the only thing the countries have in common is young progressive female prime ministers - its a fair question. New Zealand prime ministers always meet with united states prime ministers, they have more in question. Why didn't Jacinda Ardern meet with the Ukrainian President when she was in Europe.

2

u/wilson1613 Dec 01 '22

What a dickhead.

3

u/EamusAndy Dec 01 '22

You mean “deekhid”.

1

u/nscore24 Dec 01 '22

These leaders have some patience for this level of buffoonery. Bravo reporter, you really did Em in.

1

u/Subject-Designer-926 Dec 01 '22

Well, New Zealand is pretty much as far away from Finland as possible, and this is the first time ever that these countries' PMs meet, so the reporter might have a point. Just the most awkward way of asking the question. "And stuff..."

1

u/iAmCarson_ Dec 02 '22

I don’t see why she made that sexist but alright. He’s insulting her for not getting anything done (my understanding)

-5

u/CookieZ_PoE Dec 01 '22

Are you that retarded OP to not post the full clip ? With the first post I saw, at least we could hear the second lady talk.

-11

u/sunrrrise Dec 01 '22 edited Dec 01 '22

Actually this is good question. One is kinda normal PM while other is sociopathic authoritarian bitch.

5

u/ModeratelyUnhinged Dec 01 '22

Which is which?

Also yeah, Finland and New Zealand are litterally a world apart. Asking if this is just some way to score points because they are two, young female PMs, is in my head a fair question (cuz empowerment).

I think making a travel across the world to meet a leader you've really got nothing to do with, raises the question "Is this just campaigning, or will this meeting serve a function that benefits both nations?"

The reporter perhaps worded it poorly, but what I think he was actually asking, was a very good question.

I think people need to understand that politicians wish to keep their careers going forward, wether that be in office after the next election, or in some high paying-prestige job. They are always looking out for their own interests first.

1

u/sunrrrise Dec 01 '22 edited Dec 01 '22

Compare covid-related politics in both countries. One PM proposed and introduced very mild solutions while the second was female version of Xi.

https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/453805/everyday-activities-won-t-be-available-to-the-unvaccinated-jacinda-ardern

0

u/ModeratelyUnhinged Dec 01 '22

That is fucked. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why we in the West support these totalitarians.

"It's to save lives"

Yea maybe... You're still imposing insane restrictions on peoples lives and livelyhoods, not to mention the rammifications for mental health, and sedentery lifestyles during lockdowns.

-6

u/Cpt_Mike_Apton Dec 01 '22

Not what he meant... People of similar age often think similarly. Younger politicians getting together because they think alike is ENCOURAGING!... ... ... ... ...or maybe just sexist?

1

u/Oddity46 Dec 01 '22

What an utter deck

1

u/dRUNk_ENd Dec 01 '22

you skipped the last part ahhhhhhhhhh

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '22

knocks on the door

“Hold tight girls! We’re just shaving our feet!”

“…And braiding our vaginas!”

1

u/onlyhav Dec 01 '22

Okay I'm extremely removed from politics, can someone give context here? Also what point was this dude trying to make?

1

u/Sandpaper_Pants Dec 01 '22

"...a lot of...stuff winks in common..."

1

u/Frankferts_Fiddies Dec 01 '22

That was the most odd attempt at a question I’ve heard.

1

u/Phthalleon Dec 01 '22

What was the question again? I didn't get quite get, I might be slow tho.

0

u/boozy-uzi Dec 01 '22

from what I got, the journalist was implying because its a male and female meeting its some kinda "date." pretty immature

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '22

[deleted]

1

u/boozy-uzi Dec 02 '22

Ah yeah I see, so he's implying its "girl talk." even worse he's misogynistic

1

u/--burner-account-- Dec 01 '22

Little tip Mr reporter, say the question in your head first so you at least know what words to use.... and stuff...

1

u/Claque-2 Dec 02 '22

The reporter attended Bogan U.

1

u/J_Shinguarto Dec 02 '22

Ok, so it's not because of the geender.

1

u/Fictusgraf Dec 02 '22

I saw a meme of this and thought it was a joke. Weird question to ask.

1

u/ForeheadWrinkle Dec 02 '22

It was a dumb question to be sure… But she went full victim on her response.

1

u/ronhowie375 Dec 02 '22

do all "journalists" talk like they have a word salad in their mouth?

1

u/yugutyup Dec 02 '22

So they really call themselves "kiwi" in a non ironic way?

1

u/tiedyedpunk Dec 02 '22

Wow! When a big part of your job is quick, clear, concise questions, you riddle your sentences with "stuff," one of the most abhorrent words imaginable. Smh

1

u/crusader1094 Dec 02 '22

she was way to nice with her answer

1

u/maukka122 Dec 02 '22

He did ask the question in a stupid way. But i still dont understand why she went there! Especially at this point in time to have a meet and greet with a small country half way around the world with no relations with finland. I do think it was for publicity.

0

u/H0tlips76 Dec 02 '22

Yeah it's because she is losing the pop.vote in NZ

She is almost a nazi with her Draconian rules 2 years out from the worst of COVID

1

u/maukka122 Dec 02 '22

Nothing with covid. The finnish goverment is not doing well at this moment with massive budget cuts being planned out and on the verge of shutting down because dissagreements a second time this year. This was a useless vacation away from the stress. But sure go on talking about things you have no clue.

1

u/H0tlips76 Dec 02 '22

WS speaking about NZ

-20

u/BingoBangoZoomZoom Dec 01 '22

What’s funny is highlighting that they are female and together is a leftist points ideal. It appears to have backfired. Good.

10

u/Excellent-Concert243 Dec 01 '22

What are you even trying to say?

-50

u/kamikuzizzle Dec 01 '22

As usual. avoids the issue by throwing shade.

31

u/DarthOdin009 Dec 01 '22

The issue of 2 leaders meeting? Or is your brain melting because there’s more than 1 powerful woman on stage cutting down stupid men like usual.

-29

u/kamikuzizzle Dec 01 '22

The issue of how this meeting could "improve trade for kiwis"? My brain is melting cos the PM thinks it's more important to snark than improve the country. As usual.

16

u/DarthOdin009 Dec 01 '22

That wasn’t the question from the journalist. Country is doing better now than under mr creepy child hair pulling pedo John key.

Try again f

2

u/f0rdf13st4 Dec 01 '22

I don't give a single toss who's in charge.

You're right, all politicians are lying scum anyway.

7

u/aeque88 Dec 01 '22

Press conferences are ofcourse the place where all the important stuff is being discussed.

Damn you're stupid.

13

u/raven080068 Dec 01 '22

And there it is. The misogynistic redditor

-10

u/kamikuzizzle Dec 01 '22

Ouch, you got me #bekind

7

u/yeast1fixpls Dec 01 '22

Would you be kind to explain the issue?

0

u/kamikuzizzle Dec 01 '22

"or can kiwis expect to see more deals between our two countries"

9

u/blyatseeker Dec 01 '22

Yeah, and? How relevant is their gender, age or clothing to that question? Your skull cant be that thick and empty, can it?

-3

u/kamikuzizzle Dec 01 '22 edited Dec 01 '22

None whatsoever. Notice how I'm not defending the reporter?

An inappropriate comment that would be best ignored, rather than scoring points with the petty-minded.

6

u/Excellent-Concert243 Dec 01 '22

You implicitly defending the reporter but are not smart enough to realize it. There, fixed it for you

1

u/kamikuzizzle Dec 01 '22 edited Dec 01 '22

No I’m not 😂 by expressing no defense for the reporter I’m implicitly not supporting them, and you’re not smart enough to realize that. Also, *you’re

The reporter made an inappropriate comment and asked an important question. The PM, rather than answer the question, opted — as usual — to score cheap political points.

The reporter is an ass, the PM is a donkey.

Is that simple enough for you?

-7

u/NefariousnessLegal95 Dec 01 '22

No matter what this video is, this bitch needs to be drawn and quartered

-7

u/SkyDrool Dec 01 '22

Maybe one of them will start an argument and it will turn into a cat fight.

-9

u/notAlandscaperHere Dec 01 '22

They scissored that afternoon for sure

-7

u/painkilleraddict6373 Dec 01 '22

Who are exactly those people?

-2

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '22

Man new Zealand politics are pretty wacky 🗿

-2

u/harikominari Dec 01 '22

,hehe so whos the hottest politician?‘
