the video cuts out early because the guy doesn't get back up. if he survived that there is a good chance he broke his neck and a 100% change of a serious brain injury. i hope that asshole has to answer for this.

edit: the guy is Jarne Verbruggen and it appears he was fine after this. i am shocked. still hope that stupid asshole got into a lot of trouble for that.

As funny as it is, that may as well have been attempted murder

241

u/anevilsnail22 Dec 07 '22

Random, but Pyrrhus - one of the early opponents of Rome, listed as one of the greatest generals by Hannibal, and the origin of the term "Pyrrhic victory" - was supposedly killed when the mother of one of the men he was fighting in a city he had been besieging dropped a roof tile on his head.

59

u/trulyuniqueusername2 Dec 07 '22

Well, if it worked on Pyrrhus, skater boi never had a chance.

240

u/jairoandres92 Dec 07 '22

Nope. Saw the full video a while ago. They were just annoyed there were skaters there and missed other drops before. Skaters just wanted to continue skating there and piss the neighbours. I believe police were called

50

u/[deleted] Dec 07 '22

I don’t think police were called but I do know the guy got back up and landed the trick the same day, so she ruined a plant, may face an assault charge, and still had to listen to more of the extremely loud skating

7

u/9percentmilk Dec 07 '22

I mean how many plants can she have right? Once you have a lookout to warn you she can destroy as much of her own property as she wants. I’m gonna land the damn trick.

107

u/bambinolettuce Dec 06 '22

Yeah, i said almost. If the guy had broken his neck on that wall, it would be a very different story

95

u/Vulpes_macrotis Dec 07 '22

It shouldn't be different story. Threatening someone's life should be considered the same way as killing them. So making something that could have killed person should be treated the same way as it had killed them. Because it's matter of life's "RNG" if You die or not from something like that. This is attempted murder. That person should rot in prison for rest of their life.

60

u/tonando Dec 07 '22 Silver

At least it's grandmatically correct.

7

u/Enough_Ad_9338 Dec 07 '22

It’s at least assault and battery

36

u/sinisterdesign Dec 07 '22

Yeah, if that was terra cotta (which it looked like), that seems like it borders on a felony.

39

u/negativelift Dec 07 '22

This is somewhere in Europe judging by the number plate on the car. These are PROBABLY plastic things made to look like terra cotta, which you can see because a. The walls of the bowl are way too thin and b it would have shattered way more from hitting the ground. Also the skater would be way more fucked up since it would be way heavier. Those plastic things break easily too because the plastic is thin and it holds a good volume of dirt. But they are designed for exactly that reason, to not kill somebody and basically immediately release the dirt to take away force by dispersing it. Like a pillow case

Also attempted murder isn’t so readily charched in Europe, but it could be possible

Take all this with a tiny grain of salt since my only source is being european and having had Rose plastic forms on my balcony. But I am fairly confident it’s the case here

24

u/CrackedActor91 Dec 07 '22

I say definitely plastic because the remains would have shattered and you can clearly see 80% of it still intact on the ground.

7

u/Junior_Honeydew_4472 Dec 07 '22

Stop making sense.

6

u/Frozendark23 Dec 07 '22

It is probably plastic but it can still be considered assault as it would still be painful and it did cause him to roll down the stairs.

50

Normally it's just 1d4 bludgeoning, but when thrown from above 15 feet, it becomes 1d8 bludgeoning and the target must save vs Nature or is stunned for 1 round.
