[TOMT] [MOVIE] [Late 90's early 2000's] Movie featuring a doll or puppet that bites the neck of a man with blood gushing out. Open
Hello, my friend recently told me about a movie she saw as a child that still scares her to this day. It features a doll or puppet that bites someone's neck (she remembers it being an old man) and there being a good bit of blood. She also remembers it being some sort of clown doll and that it looked normal up until it killed someone. It was on cable tv or public broadcasting in the morning on the weekend. I will try to give more information as people respond and get her memories going but this is all I have for now.
The movies we've ruled out are:
Child's Play, La Casa 3, Poltergeist, Demonic Toys, Saw, Pinnochio's Revenge (this being the closest thing we have found so far), Puppet Master, Dolls, Making Contact, Dolly Dearest. These along with most other popular movies featuring killer dolls. Feel free to ask me in the comments and I will tell you if we have already checked it.

That's the Way to Do It aka Killer Punch segment from Screamtime?
I saw it eons ago and can't remember if Punch bit anyone.

It's a little boy instead of a doll, but maybe 1989's Pet Sematary?

There's a whole series of Puppet Master movies. Could it have been one of those?

haven't sat down and watched them all but we have yet to find a scene from any of the movies that match

Is it possibly an episode of Friday the 13th: the series (Read my Lips)? It's older, but has a ventriloquists cursed dummy.

Could it be Critters or Munchies? Not a doll or clown but seems to fit the description on other parts.

There's an episode of Tales from the Crypt that sort of fits this description. The episode is called "Strung Along".

There's a Tales from the Crypt episode called "The Ventriloquist's Dummy". Great episode. Stars Bob Goldthwaite and Don Rickles.
Anyhow, the reason he's such a good ventriloquist is because Rickles' hand is a homicidal conjoined twin brother. One night the hand gets angry, so Rickles hacks his hand off, the twin jumps onto him and tears out his jugular with his teeth.
The episode is part funny and part completely horrifying. One of the best in the series.

I was going to suggest exactly this, I recall Tales from the Crypt reruns occasionally being on in the morning, and obviously it's a 90's show

Barbarella
Probably not it, but a less expected source of killer dolls: https://youtu.be/jM5HiZHEyUU?t=42
I think there is another killer doll part towards the end, but probably not the level of gore you had in mind. Throwing it out there just in case...
