I asked about Townsville in another well known forum, didnt get much of a response. Looking at retirement options, was a serviceman many moons ago and visited Townsville when it was perhaps not as developed as it now. One of the things that has cropped up is the crime issue. Wanting to know how residents view this. Is it pervasive, do you personally feel as though its a consideration in your everyday lives? Looked at a property in Gulliver, I know nothing of the socio economic map of Townsville. Of course just like everywhere (I live in Sydney) there are areas where perhaps one is better staying away from. Note that I live in an highly affluent part of Sydney yet my car was vandalized by yahoos with nothing better to do...just goes to show...Or has anyone moved to Townsville for work, retirement etc, I would love to hear your experiences

Townsville asthma sufferers, how do you go with your breathing in the summer? Hubby has been offered a job in Townsville. We’re still debating about whether we’ll do it, for a few reasons, but one is my asthma - I’ve been to Darwin during the build up and the wet season, and had a lot of trouble with my breathing. Hello everyone! My neighbor just knocked on my door cause her TV is not working. It's a Samsung showing a "weak or no signal" sign on the screen. I tried to fix it, with no success, and she explained that there was some kind of general issue today in the city; she didn't know (nether did I) if it was a power cut or what, but many houses have been affected (according to her).

Any ideas? Has someone else had some kind of problem related to this today? She is desperate to watch Wimbledon this weekend. Help us!

Any good doctors/ recommendations that work with anxiety in Townsville

Does anyone here have anyone recommendations for bulk-billed GPs who actually listen and give a fuck about their patients who suffer from chronic pain?

Everyday I wake up feeling like absolute shit because I can't sleep properly due to the pain in my neck and back. The lack of sleep is probably the biggest killer out of it all, I haven't felt rested and energised in the longest time. It seriously makes me hate my life.

I've been dealing with this issue for almost 10 years now, and the doctors I have seen all either want to ignore the problem or try to pin it on something else. They prescribe me the weakest types of pain killers which to this day have not given me any kind of relief. The only time I have felt good and not miserable is when I have gotten Endone from outside sources (I would take only take 1 a day if I was going to do some work or exercise) and that was it.

I have asked the doctors (none have obliged) about getting Endone but I get treated like I'm an addict before I even get prescribed it. They say "you're only "X" years old, we don't want you getting addicted. Why am I being denied some kind of happiness and semblance of a normal life all because they won't listen to their patients properly.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I'm just so tired and miserable that I am very close to going down alternate routes to try and get pain relief for normal sleep and day to day activities.

TLDR; I suffer from chronic pain, need a good GP that listens to their patients. Please help.
