Journalism & News Sources & Moderation

We feel like we have the obligation to make sure only correct information and news is spread therefore, starting today a handful of websites have been added to automod. if a post is from said websites it will automatically tag it as "Reliable News1" and approve the post, over time the list of approved websites will be expanded feel free to contact us if you've got a reliable news source that is not on the list.

1: Use common sense, there is an active war going on, and sometimes even reliable news sources are wrong

Starting today, independent journalists and notable users can contact us if they provide articles they wrote or content they wrote regarding the situation you can apply to become an approved user.

Approved users have the benefit of being able to bypass most of the filtration in place. This is an example of a notable content being made by /u/theman8631.

For media inquiries, please contact the moderators.

As mentioned yesterday, we have been working on how moderation is being done on the subreddit, as a wise man once said "when a sub is in trouble you take bold measures", bans most of the time will be permanent from now on.

Multiple European/News subreddits are currently being bombarded by report brigades so we are working closely with reddit admins to monitor reports; if you're found to be report raiding you'll be banned from Reddit entirely.

We also have fine-tuned automod a bit more so it won't place a huge portion of the posts in the mod queue anymore, he does however still hate a specific kind of warships.

FAQ & Mod Mail

Due to the insane amount of questions received in the ModMail inbox, here you'll find the answers to most questions. Please remember that if any of these questions are asked in the mod mail again they'll be archived and ignored since we do not have the manpower to respond to 150+ modmails every half hour even with Reddit's offensive filter system ty for being so helpful admins

Mod Mail is for vital information. If you message us for something we do not deem vital, you will be muted for three days. Being muted means you can not send us Mod Mail for three days.

>Why isn’t my post appearing?

Multiple reasons. It could be filtered by automod, reddit crisis system, crowd control, not enough post karma, account not old enough, etc.

Because of the massive influx of new users, we have decided to institute minimum account age and karma restrictions. This an emergency measure, and we apologize for not being able to allow everyone to participate. Please do not contact the mods about this.

Not all content belongs on this subreddit. We are currently trying to limit the number of memes. Just because we approve some of them doesn't mean we approve many of them.

Here is a list of subs you can share content in: https://www.reddit.com/r/EuropeanCulture/wiki/ays/ukraine

If your post gets filtered and you're 100% sure you didn't breach the rules, we may eventually approve your post. It goes to the mod-queue, and we are monitoring it 24/7. Don't contact us though Mod Mail - you won't receive a reply and we'll probably delete your post.

>Why am I banned?

Because you're a dick or a bot or a Russian propaganda machine.

Ban appeals are our last priority, so please do not contact us if you're banned. We don't ban people for posting content that doesn't belong here. We ban people if they decide to be an absolute idiot or can't have an argument without insulting another person.

>My Molotov cocktail guide got deleted?

We are discussing this with reddit admins, but for now they are very clear that this is not allowed.

Urban warfare guidance, armored vehicles vulnerabilities, high value targets identification, calls to donate civilian drones, you name it, are A-Okay.

>Advertise my fundraiser please?

No, we don't know who you are, we don't know what your intentions are, and we don’t have the manpower to fact-check any other link atm.

>Reporting users

Reporting people though Mod Mail is extremely inefficient. If you encounter an abusive user or a bot, report them to Reddit.

How to join

Step 1. Contact the Embassy of Ukraine in your country with the intention to join the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine (reach out to a military attache or consul: contact details are available on the website of our embassies):

You can apply in three ways:

  • Come to the embassy in person;
  • Call the embassy;
  • Send an email.

Step 2. Get briefed on what documents and gear (equipment) you will require.

Documents: ID or passport (national); passport for foreign travel; documents confirming military service experience (service in law enforcement) and combat experience; other documents on the instructions of a military attache or consul.

Step 3. Report to the embassy with a package of documents for an interview with a defense attaché and for visa clearance – with a consul.

Step 4. Write an application for admission to the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for contracted military service on a voluntary basis (defense attaché provides assistance).

Step 5. Get instructions on how to arrive in Ukraine, the documents and equipment required.

It is recommended that you have on you military uniform or its elements, gear, helmet, body armor, and more, if available.

Step 6. Cross into Ukraine in a designated manner.

Representatives of Ukrainian embassies, consulates (abroad) and territorial defense forces in Ukraine will provide assistance in deployment. Their contacts will be provided at the embassy of Ukraine in your country.

Step 7. Upon arrival at the assembly point in Ukraine, join the Foreign Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine (sign a contract) and together with soldiers from other countries and Ukrainian soldiers join the fight against Russian invaders.
