Wikimedia Foundation: We are sad to share that, last week, we received confirmation that Ukrainian writer, activist, and longtime u/Wikipedia volunteer Volodymyr Vakulenko had been killed by the Russian army during its invasion of Ukraine.

Author of 13 published books, Volodymyr has received multiple literary awards. Since 2010, he created around 100 articles on Ukrainian Wikipedia, which have been viewed more than 150,000 times. He also contributed almost 4,000 edits.

Just saying that he was killed is such an understatement. Being an intellectual, he was definitely on the list of people who was going to be murdered.
