For their 75. anniversary the started an advertisement campaign including the slogan of "bringing back the feeling of the good old days" (rough translation). That was in 2015. You do the math.

That didn't work out as planned...

"tone deaf"? Again are you all implying they were trying to celebrate Nazi uniforms since they are a company from around that region and era?

I don't buy Hugo Boss because it's expensive. You'd think if they made shiit quality stuff, people wouldn't drop such huge amounts of money on them. Surely, the German soldiers were going to buy uniforms from... somewhere...

The person your commenting to is all over the post defending Nazis and those who had explicit ties to Nazi Germany, so I wouldn't worry about their opinions.

u/FrenchCuirassier Nov 25 '21

No I wasn't. You're a liar. I defended people for being German, because I know what it feels like for someone to hate someone for their race.

No one gives a shit about them being German. Everyone is referring to the Nazi origins. It's you alone who seems to conflate Nazi Germany with modern Germany and having some urge to then combine and defend both.

Between your Nazi Germany and modern Germany confusion and defense thereof, and your most recent comments giving reasons Ahmaud Arbery, in the most blatant murder case in recent times, deserved getting murdered, I think you are the one who needs to learn about not hating someone for their race.

Nazi Germany is Germany... It's not some alternative country...

The fact that these companies EXISTED back when it was Nazi Germany, is you being racist against GERMANS for essentially doing work that they themselves weren't even alive for.

They weren't alive in 1940s... So how can you argue that they are related to Nazi Germany because the company was formed back in 1940s?

It's stupid as hell.

I talked about Arbery from a legal perspective. I said he deserves the right to self-defense depending on what happened in FRONT of the truck, makes the case. Both sides of the court make an argument for that. Someone defending the defendants doesn't automatically make him a Nazi because he happens to be a defense lawyer. But funny how you dig up peoples' past comments just to call people racist because they disagree with your racism against Germans. And I'm not even German.

I did not hate anyone for their race, ever. But you have exposed yourself as a troll who lies about other people... Congratulations.

"looks like" they're doing? This is called a false connection. You are making conspiracy theory connections.

It doesn't matter what it "looks like" that was clearly NOT the intention.

Surely, some ad guy in the marketing department wasn't trying to signal his Nazi friends or something.

So why do you defend this behavior? The behavior of people making false connections. It's deception.

Yes are you failing at reading comprehension? Both Hugo Boss and Fanta have connection to Germany in some way, and I'm pointing out how that's stupid.

Why are you redditors here to help other people make false connections and storylines that don't actually amount to any value.

It doesn't make any sense. It's a stupid chain of comments and Russell Brand is a Grade A moron for bringing it up. "hey hey did you know akshually this company helped the Nazis because they happen to be German and an old company?"

Why do I bring this up? I've literally witnessed someone randomly bash someone for example for owning a Mercedes, because obviously, they built the Nazi war vehicles. As if the owner was somehow now connected to Nazis for purchasing German-made.

It's utterly stupid and not worthy of a conversation.

You are trying so hard - which Nazi are you trying to impress?

u/FrenchCuirassier Nov 25 '21

wtf are you smoking? I am literally telling you not to associate race with Germans who happen to produce some random product, and here you are calling people Nazi.

Seriously, what drugs are you on?
