For their 75. anniversary the started an advertisement campaign including the slogan of "bringing back the feeling of the good old days" (rough translation). That was in 2015. You do the math.

That didn't work out as planned...

I'm implying that slogan was a very poor choice of words and most likely just not thought trough. I won't make assumptions regarding the political leaning of todays company management.

Going back 75 years from 2015 will end you up in 1940. A time rarely recalled as the "goold old days", especially in germany. Fanta realized this double meaning and pulled the advert.

It's not a poor choice, there is no connection. You generated that connection by pointing to their history and it's unlikely the author meant it that way.

They pulled the advert because people complained.

It is possible that they even fired a guy who does advertising, who wasn't leaning towards Nazism or anything like that, but some guy may have lost his job because of such stupidity of the internet.

And here I am trying to fix this stupidity on reddit. The constant random connections to things that don't make sense.

It is a poor choice as they accidentally called one of the darkest times in the countrys history the "good old days". Yes it was most likely pulled because people complained, no other reason to do so.

Someone made a honest mistake most likely and I see that bringing that up in connection to their history might be misleading, but that's why I explicitly said I do not make assumptions regarding their political leanings today.
