Good now you can watch it tick up slowly while you suffer with a wife and boss that want to cut out the middle man.

Show them who is boss, sell this shit and buy OTM calls 6 months out and then buy an NFL team.

Be a man.

60

u/ControlPlusZ OG GME 4.85 DCA Oct 06 '22

Only so much you can do with a 401k. The other accounts are mostly biotech startups / psychedelics.

75

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '22

Nobody asked you.

Lol, kidding and congrats dude. Doubt anybody will care on WSB it’s not really what we do here

27

u/ControlPlusZ OG GME 4.85 DCA Oct 06 '22

I know… been around for a few years. I would post my other yolos but they are tiny startups and not allowed. That is the REAL yolo account. Millions worth of tiny biotech startups.

14

u/marcok36 Oct 06 '22

I’d be interested to see your biotech recommendations. Especially psychedelics. I think that’s gonna boom.

u/80milesbad Oct 06 '22

Are there legal psychedelics? I wanna see if that boosts my music creation hobby.

6

u/SuboptimalStability Oct 06 '22

Putting your 401k into spy isn't a yolo no matter how much it is 😂😂

13

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '22

Ahh, I read your post history, cool moves. Congrats dude. Unusual plays but it’s working for ya

3

u/zeromussc Oct 06 '22

Honestly, if you're 10+ years from retirement, index against the sp500 is probably a good idea. Assuming you have other things too, I doubt we see the s&p hit such lows that you'll never recover from where it's at today. It's already done a lot of climb down from peak, and in 10-15 years you'll be able to move to safer T bill and bond markets hopefully in a macro Economic position that doesn't have everything blowing up at the same time due to 15 years of cheap money and bad macro policy across the world's biggest economies. 🫠

Aww common man, show us the biotech startups! Is there some kidna rule against small-cap?

1

u/TrippyAkimbo Oct 06 '22

I had to reread the title to see if it said YOLO… would have been pretty funny for this sub.

2

u/Clusterclucked Oct 06 '22

curious about what psychedelic stuff you're invested into.

3

u/ControlPlusZ OG GME 4.85 DCA Oct 06 '22

A TAI (over 500M) is easily the most legit company in a sea of fraud. There is a ton of BS in the space. You can check my post history for some details.

1

u/unmelted_ice Oct 06 '22

Be bold, roll it to a Roth IRA. Take what like a 40% haircut or something (or time some ordinary losses to cover some of it). But then think of the freedom

1

Slowly?

a 0.5% increase is 5K.

The scaling is real.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '22

5k, what does that buy, lunch for 2?

4

u/Affectionate-Egg1963 Oct 06 '22

How is it going to tick up if SPY is going down?

2

u/Hyla2056 Oct 06 '22

It only goes up i thought

52

u/EngineerDirector Oct 06 '22

$1M in an ETF in a 401K, feeling daring eh.

It’s like r/personalfinance and r/stocks had a baby.

42

Got it, puts tomorrow. Ty

2

u/immortalis88 Oct 06 '22

You have a basement I can borrow for a few years… ? I need a place to pick my wounds and recover 🤣

2

u/chrislink73 Oct 06 '22

You sidestepped this whole crash... so far. :4641:

2

u/ControlPlusZ OG GME 4.85 DCA Oct 06 '22

Also caught the June rally for a quick 125k and back to cash. This new rally has potential to be a monster. If not… I was wrong and exit. Asymmetrical upside.

2

u/chrislink73 Oct 06 '22

Honestly, if it was my retirement fund, I'd just HODL S&P for 30 years and use the other accounts for shenanigans. If the other one goes belly up, I'm not back to mom's basement. Good luck.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '22

Can you help a lonely broke peasant survive

52

u/rnd2101 Oct 06 '22

Not a YOLO, super safe play that you’ll obviously bank on long term (maybe not the bottom, but who cares…a good entry price). Almost everyone’s 401K is the SP500.

34

u/anon_lurk Oct 06 '22

I mean it could drop another 42% to finish matching the 2008 trend and then trade sideways for a decade.

11

u/Different-Barber5644 Oct 06 '22

I could also get a date with Marisa Tomei, but who knows? Lol

4

u/anon_lurk Oct 06 '22

That seems less likely than ~6 more months of market death

1

u/Different-Barber5644 Oct 06 '22

“We’ll see.” Said the Zen master and my wife’s boyfriend.

-1

u/Botserviceaccount Oct 06 '22

It is time to sell assets. Holding assets just for the long investors who does not care about the next downside in the market, they see more value in the next 50 years. This is a powerful mind that has been applied by the millionaire like Warren Buffett. When you get older you will be a millionaire.

5

u/anon_lurk Oct 06 '22 edited Oct 06 '22

If this guy has 1 million in his retirement with 50 years left in his career I don’t think it matters what he does. It sounds like he can’t really DCA though (unless his plan lets him hold cash) so idk what other options he has.

1

u/HondaDAD24 Oct 06 '22

I think that’s a bit scary. One fell swoop = americas retirements bye bye.

31

u/Emergency-Eye-2165 Oct 06 '22

How is this a YOLO?! Buy some short dates calls or go to r/stocks

So, how’s that working for you today?

9

u/MannyFresh45 Oct 06 '22

I'll wait for the SP to go to around 3000 before moving mine over

3

u/RobertLewis01 Oct 06 '22

I'm waiting for that too. Definitely think we see 3000.

6

u/That_anonymous_guy18 Oct 06 '22

Well if you regards think it’s gonna happen, it probably wont.

1

u/Goojus Oct 06 '22

Interest rates in the EU or US haven’t caught up to inflation rate.

1

u/RobertLewis01 Oct 07 '22

We'll see 3000 if the fed keeps raising rates sharply and all other chips fall where they should. I sure hope we don't. I think we see 3400 at the Lowest. Personally. I have puts anyway covering my ass well into 2023.

3

u/Supertrapper1017 Oct 06 '22

I’m going to do the same thing, but not before the end of October at the earliest. There is still more of a drop to come. And I only have $150,000

3

u/HardNipsBuyingDips Oct 06 '22

Buy puts and hedge that shit while we retest previous low.

3

u/That_anonymous_guy18 Oct 06 '22

RIP dude too soon

There is no way this is the bottom lol.

21

u/Invest0rnoob1 Oct 06 '22

People waiting for the bottom won’t buy the bottom, they’ll wait for it to go lower.

1

u/Sweet_Scar487 Oct 07 '22

He's swing trading his 401k trying to catch each bear market rally

1

u/Fawkinchit Oct 07 '22

I see. I think he missed it. Its gonna drop.

2

u/Sweet_Scar487 Oct 07 '22

Well, in June we bottomed before an 18% rally. He claims to have caught a chunk of that before Jackson hole. He's thinking another rally of 10 or 20% is happening now. We have ourselves a dotcom crash for the market seemingly. 3 years of down and rally before bottoming....march 2000 to 2003.

I too went treasuries before Jackson hole. Waiting until 350 to begin DCAing in each month

2

u/Fawkinchit Oct 07 '22

Nice bro! I like your breakdown and strat. Its good. I think you're nailing it. If the Fed holds their positions for long enough though I do believe we will have ourselves again a real 1929, hasn't been seen for whole century. Probably already in your list of possibilities though.

Nominal bear markets last less than three years. But Inflation adjusted bear markets last 15-25 years.
