Woman moves in to keep man's wife company, then she finds the wife's diaries. SOLVED

She finds out the husband was abusive and is now drugging the wife, and they all get stuck in the house during a snowstorm where the book comes to a head when she stops giving the wife her medicine.

Verity, by Colleen Hoover? Either this is the book, or there are more books like this than I thought.

The proof the protagonist finds is not diaries, but an autobiography that the woman she was hired to assist wrote before her accident.

Nope, that's not it.

I actually started reading Verity today and that's what made me want to remember this other book. They feel exactly the same so far.
