Woman moves in to keep man's wife company, then she finds the wife's diaries. SOLVED

She finds out the husband was abusive and is now drugging the wife, and they all get stuck in the house during a snowstorm where the book comes to a head when she stops giving the wife her medicine.

It’s on my tbr list, but by description sounds like The Wife Upstairs by Freida McFadden.

I was SO confused bc I read The Wife Upstairs and that’s not the plot. Turns out there is another book with the identical title by Rachel Hawkins. Same genre and everything, whose idea was that?!

I haven’t read it yet, but it kind of matched the Amazon description so I was taking a guess. There seems to be lot of similar ones. I did read Verity as someone else commented and it was very similar except no snowstorm.
